Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices and eat meat. Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward. Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.
“Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you. Jeremiah 7:21-27
So add to the list that I know what Jeremiah felt. As well as the Lord himself and God the father, and all the other prophets. In that you come to the people telling them clearly and simply exact what God wants and expects, and it is spelled out in the book they claim is the word and voice of God, the bible. Because it is written over and over, and put in simplest form. Hear God and obey him. That is it! Not read the bible and he will speak to you, but hear him and obey him.
This idea that God no longer speaks to us is ridicules. I myself and many other people I know speak with the Lord. The question is not if God still speaks to his children or not, it is are you listening and then obeying so you become one of his children.
Two points God made to me on this subject, first one spelled out above in Jeremiah, “Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. You shall also call to them, but they will not answer you.” I feel this one almost daily. I take what God is showing me and tell people and no one listens, and worse think I am crazy for believing I hear God speak and according to them no one else does. Keep in mind what Yeshua said also using the parable of the vineyard owner and sending his helpers to collect from them, and then his son. And they beat and killed them including his son. So obviously the Son knew this same feeling, a feeling of what is the point? No one listens and it gets dangerous because there may come a day where they kill you or beat you for your testimony or prophecy.
I do not know anyone that worships baal anymore, but it is the same with the bible and or saints and Mary with the catholics. But even if you do not worship baal or Mary, how many of you think your bible is the lifeline to God? Like without it you cannot find God?
Well, this is the point of that. God can and has many times over saved men and took them to heaven without the bible. A perfect example is Abraham, Isaac, Jacob… There was nothing written at all when they lived, Moses wrote the first five books much latter. They simply lived according to the Lord in hearing him and obeying him.
On the other hand these days you cannot be saved because of the bible, which as mentioned many times over is only a few hundred years old as far as an option to use. Because it was not mass produced until the 1,600’s when the printing press came into being. The bible cannot save a soul, not one. Today because Yeshua came and died and sent the helper the Holy Spirit. It is clear as stated in John 3, unless one is born again into the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
In the old days before the Spirit was given, and now with the Spirit. The same principals apply. Hear him and obey. That is it. The difference is today we have a helper to help us in our obedience, he can perfect us. In the days of Abraham, they did not have this and so they remained making their own decisions.
But either way, the old days or new days it is still about hearing and obeying the Lord God. And like the old days, the new generation still does not want to hear and obey the Lord so they come up with their religions which tell them they do not have to. The heap up preachers who tell them what their itching ears want to hear, instead of the truth which can and will set them free. The problem of which is when you die you find out this simple truth, you either did hear and obey or did not. And those who chose to hear and obey (because it is a choice). They go to heaven and spend eternity in paradise. Those who do not spend eternity in hell with the unquenchable fire. To me, I am extremely grateful the Lord showed me all this. Because I know what my eternal punishment was going to be if I never come to know this truth. I feel extremely grateful to come to know the Lord and his truth, and it is a pleasure to share this truth even if no one ever listens and or pursacutes or hates me for it.
