“Don’t give to dogs what is holy, and don’t throw your pearls to the pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, then turn and attack you.” Matthew 7:6
As usual, the Lord is teaching us, both myself and my wife Cinthya something through things we are living. This time the same exact message at the same time. If we did not know God and know he test us like this, the results would be very different, Cinthya even said so. And in more than one way.
Cinthya’s dad is very sick, all his years of abusing his body are catching up. She took him to the doctor the other day, two different ones actually, and there was a third doctor he saw a few days back. The funny thing is all three gave 3 different results. The first one said he has cancer in his stomach and other areas. The second he has water in his lungs and his liver has cirrhosis. No diabetes however. The last doctor said he has pneumonia and cirrhosis and very high blood sugar or diabetes. This man drinks coke all day long, never water, he is a heavy smoker, a heavy drinker in his days… He is no Hitler, but he is not a good man at all by any man’s standards. A man who abused his kids in all three ways, went out chasing women and getting drunk instead of being home to make money and feed them. They grew up dirt poor, and many days hungry.
He is almost 80, still lives in a small little room smaller than my wife’s closet, and has for years. If my wife and her sister did not give him some food he would not eat, he refuses to work. He was pretty good at carpentry, and a few years back I hired him to make some kitchen cabinets for me for a house we were building, he did not have the tools to do it so I bought them for him. He took the tools and sold them and proceeded to get drunk all weekend. I never asked him to work for me again, and barely talked to him since, not because I am mad at him, I have nothing for him one way or the other. And as with all my enemies (if you want to call him that). I pray for him.
But here is the teaching, and looking back at the verse above about throwing your pearls to the swine. I have used that verse with people before and they have said “so you are saying I am swine?” No, not necessarily, but the son of God is using it as an example, so more importantly what does he think of you? Because this is exactly what this verse is about.
Some of you are probably saying about now, “what about turning the other cheek?” Or “do not judge least thee be judged.” I would say, “I am not judging, it is between Yeshua and him. I cannot put him in hell or save him to heaven. It is his decision to repent or not, and he has not. He remains the same man he always was. My wife and I tried to get him to come to know the Lord, he walked with it a little while and then went right back to his throw up. He has a huge pride thing regarding seeking forgiveness, he instead hides in the dark and pretends like nothing ever happened. So don’t give to the dogs what is Holy.
This story is more, however, it shows you things God sees very different than we do. He sees how this man wasted everything he was given on alcohol and women, ruining his wealth and health completely. And now who is the one who is there to help out? The only one willing to do anything for him is my wife, she brought him here to our home. Which brings a little tension because I do not want him here for two reasons. First and foremost his spirit. I do not want him near my kids. And second I do not want him to die here and have his evil spirit hanging around here. We really have no idea how the Spiritual world works.
So back to helping, and Cinthya’s family. Most of her brothers and sisters are similar, they do not work much and when they make a little money they spend it foolishly. One of them is exactly like his dad, spending on booze, drugs and women. And because of this they have no money. So they cannot afford to do anything, nor do they want to. They do not want their dad in the streets sitting in his small little trash room freezing to death literally. He is really that close to death. The last doctor said “IF” he is still alive on Monday, bring him back to review the test results.
Here is the point, to what point do you help? Yes we have the resources to help, no question. But like some of my other posts along this same subject line. Why should I be giving the 8 talents I accumulated to them, because I did the things they don’t. We work hard for the money, sacrificed things they never did, and they want us to pay for everything and take care of the family?
The interesting thing is this story represents a lot of Mexican families, not so much the new generation as most of them work hard, get good careers and do things to get ahead. Probably at a much higher rate than the US these days which seems to be going the opposite direction.
There is an old saying, the first generation makes the money, the second blows it, and the third rebuilds it again. It is a cycle. And the interesting thing is the elites know this, but they teach their kids differently so this does not happen, but instead the wealth continues to build. A big part of the reason for the book on wealth and health I am writing is to be a teaching tool for my kids, I do not want them to be the lazy one given much and losing it. The education system does not teach anything about business and finances and how things really work. There are all kinds of sources out there today to find out, but most never seek them. And they may not be around later.
As a simple example, few people know that back in the early 1,900’s Roosevelt made the people sell their gold to the US for dollars. He then revalued it by 60% erasing the US debt, but this instantly dropped the net worth of the people by that same 60%, literally overnight. There is a lot of talk that Pres Trump is going to do the same thing, maybe with gold, maybe with bitcoin or some sort of crypto currency. If he does, how do you protect yourself? There are ways, for example, move to another country. And invest in their money like I am in pesos. As the dollar drops the pes goes up. And hold your gold and silver in another country. Own stocks and commodities instead of paper money.
By the way the same typing happened to the people like my father in law here in Mexico back in the late 1,990’s when the government over spent and could not pay it back, the peso noose dived all the way to over 100 pesos to 1 dollar at one point, whipping out wealth from these people. The same has happened in many countries even in the last few years. And going back to a teaching a few days ago, about socialism and how it destroys the wealth of people yet the people do not see it and want it. They want hard working men like me who sacrificed and did without health insurance and drove old cars (still do), and many other sacrifices we made. They want me to pay for their health insurance through higher taxes. Interesting because just today I saw a story of Chicago, and how they doubled the property taxes. This at a time when everyone’s budget is already at its max if not spending on credit cards to put food on the table. Why does this happen? And will it happen to New York with their new socialist mayor? Yes it will happen because of the same thing, these states and cities cannot print money like the US government does and goes into debt, at least until no one buys their debt anymore. They have to keep a budget. So when the mayor promises and or implements all these social programs and freebies, where does the money come from? They always promise from the wealthy ones, in the case of New York those making more than $1,000,000 a year. But what happened when he got elected? All those $1,000,000 earners put their homes up for sale and are moving to Florida. So then who will be left to tax to pay for the social programs?
The same with my wife and me and her family, because here in Mexico it is the same story, there is usually one or two kids who do well, in this area they move and work in the USA. And they send money home to the lazy ones who do nothing. I have asked my wife many times over, or more so made the point, that when the real troubles come and people do not have to even put food on the table. Which for many people these days is already happening, and with things like Chicago, many more are entering this time. It is biblical.
But the point is, when it gets to that point, are you going to take what we have to live on, taking from our kids and giving it to your family so they can eat? Putting us at risk? Because money only goes so far, and once you start pulling from principal to pay the bills, you have a problem. Don’t give to the dogs that which is Holy.
So how do you know when to help and when not to? Two ways, first is the Lord will tell you who to help and who not to help. And it seems these days the ones to not help are growing. Many people see the same thing I do and that is the Lord is separating the sheep from the goats. Second, you will know them by their fruit they bear.
The stories I share are all about this verse, especially what I shared today. This is one of many ways you can bear bad fruit. As said many times it is not about growing wealth like it is the answer to get into heaven, because the worship of money is the root of all evil. But we also must do with the money and abilities God gives us to the best we can and manage it wisely. Our position in heaven depends on this. Are you able to grow 4 talents into 8 while still knowing it really is not your money and is not what gets you into heaven nor peace, joy and love? Can you stay separated from it? Because how difficult it is for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom.
I give when God says give, I help when he says help. I stay away when he shows me clearly to stay away. Most all of the people play amature gods, giving when they should not because it is their family and the church system, especially the catholic church. Teach to give and give. It is soooo easy to think you are doing God’s will with giving and many other things, when we really are doing the opposite, because we do not know God and obey his commands or guidance to us personally. And the religious people do it while quoting verses like, “when I was hungry you gave me to eat…” Keep in mind that verse starts with “whatever you do to the least of my brothers.” Now most assume we are all brothers in Yeshua, but we are not. You are only a brother if you hear and obey him. Your church system and its leaders are NOT Yeshua. Nor am I to tell you who you should or should not help. Yeshua is the one you need to consult with on who and when you will help, then obey him no matter the cost to you. Because many times it costs you either family relations or money out of your pocket.
As a side note, I find it interesting or sad about how things work with God. Men like my father in law live dirt poor, barely a relationship with anyone especially his kids. Rarely has to eat. About as bad of a life as I can imagine. Yet when he dies unrepented, it will be much worse than his life now. And it does not have to be like this, it is because of decisions made.
But it always comes back to Do you know Yeshua! He is the only one to help you walk this fine line between not throwing your pearls to the swine nor giving the dogs that which is holy. While at the same time feeding his sheep.
