Don’t delude yourselves: no one makes a fool of God! A person reaps what he sows. Those who keep sowing in the field of their old nature, in order to meet its demands, will eventually reap ruin; but those who keep sowing in the field of the Spirit will reap from the Spirit everlasting life. Galatians 6:7-8 CJV
Once again this new version of the bible (or I should say old version as it is in line with the original text more so than any others). This verse spells things out much better than other versions. For example the part of “will eventually reap ruin” is not in the other versions.
This is the NKJV “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”
It is the “eventually” part we need to understand, because we as mere humans see people doing well in life (from the outside looking in) while leading normal lives of the flesh, some more than others. No matter what your sin is, it catches up to you.
For example if it is eating bad, you start to gain weight but not health issues, but after a while of continuing to eat trash, eventually something goes wrong you need to fix or change. Most people run to the doctor and the doctor gives some sort of prescription or surgery to fix it. It might be something simple like high blood pressure or something serious like cancer or a heart attack. BUT, eventually it comes.
The same is true with spending more than you make, with modern forms of credit you can buy a much bigger home than you can afford, fancy cars on payments, credit cards or line of credits for almost everything else. So we can finance our living. Today there is even credit to buy food. And in my past I lived like that and eventually my house of cards came tumbling down because when my income dropped significantly, there was no way to pay the bills.
You can also sow to the flesh in sexual sin, wanting other women other than your wife. It can start with a little flirting or pornography and eventually it becomes more if you let it. If you ask most people who had affairs if they thought they would when they got married, they would say no, things just happened.
Now let’s tie this in with walking in the flesh versus the Spirit. Because all three of these examples I can claim in my past life in the flesh. And now can claim in my present life in the Spirit as having conquered them and do not practice them anymore.
First with food, I learned even before I came to know God that how I was eating was destroying me, I started to gain a lot of weight and had health issues. I changed my diet because of a seminar I went to and my weight dropped fast, within a month it was back to normal. And my health returned. These days it is difficult to find real food, almost everything is changed, processed or things added to it. About the only things not changed are from your own garden and or hunting and fishing.
But two points on this, first is it did not take God telling me to change these things, I figured it out on my own with the help of normal people. If you think about things you can do most things on your own with the help of people. It is not difficult or impossible. But we do not do it because of lack of discipline, we like the lifestyle we live more than our health, our physical health, financial health and Spiritual health. And because we get away with cheating a little here and there, and see other people getting away with it. We think everything is OK. But “eventually” it catches up, maybe in a small way, maybe in a big way.
Financially the same thing, as long as I could juggle the money to pay the bills or make more income, everything was fine and we lived a lifestyle well above our means. Most people do and the piper is here to collect on most of them in the USA. All you have to do is look at delinquencies on loans, all of them, car loans, mortgages, credit cards, student loans… I lost everything some 20 plus years ago, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me although extremely stressful at the time. Today we live without any debt, pay cash for what we want, and literally live a life most people only dream of. We have freedom of time along with it.
And relationships with your spouse. It is easy to find people who flirt with you or give you that look. My wife especially gets it all the time, me some but not as much. It is easy to stop it before it starts, putting up a boundary. Many think it is cold and not of God because it seems harsh at times. Burt if you do not do it, that little flirting smile can quickly turn into a cup of coffee and then a hotel room if you let it.
So let’s incorporate the Spirit into this and how he works. Because there are two aspects of this, a discipline to act a different way, and an obedience to the truth giving up your right to make your own decisions.
The Spirit of God never had to correct me on my physical health, I did it according to his truth on my own and continue to do so. I constantly am watching to see what has changed in our food because they are constantly changing our food. Constantly seeking truth about it, some coming from men who know more than me about it, and mostly from God.
Same with money, God shows me a lot and demands discipline. Many point out the bible talks about money more than anything else, and it gives a nice guideline. But without discipline that guideline is for nothing. For me, the discipline came from three sources. First getting cut off from getting any loans. At this time I cannot get a loan in the US if I wanted one, I have not had credit there in over 15 years. I do not have bad credit, just no credit. I do have a credit card down here in Mexico that gets paid off every month. Second is high interest rates in Mexico, home loans are around 10%, credit cards are around 75%. I just could never come to accept that and do it. Third, the wife God gave me, she is the cheapest woman I ever met, completely different from any woman I was dating or married to in the US. And because she is a Mexican citizen and I am not, we do things her way most of the time because of her demanding way. Which is good for me, even though I do not like it.
Now keep in mind, if I did not move to Mexico when the Spirit told me to, I would still be spending money like crazy and probably reestablish my credit and have debit. Plus the cost to live in the US is way out of line compared to here. The point is obedience to the Spirit, when he tells you something that sounds crazy like move here (to Mexico) and you do not understand why. You have to obey, later you come to understand why. The move did much more than just fix my finances, there are many things I learned from living here in Mexico I never would have learned if I ignored the Holy Spirit and stayed in the USA. Living on the outside looking in makes a huge difference, as does living in a culture which is very different from how we live in the USA.
It is the same with women, in my past life, I would do happy hour some times, go hang with friends in places where other women were. Even at work there were many opportunities if I pursued them. Today, none. My wife and I are together almost all day long, enjoying each other. The little we are out alone, I know to keep my guard up and boundaries (as cold as it may seem).
Also raising kids, if you do it according to what the Spirit reveals to you, you will do it much better than if you do not. Although sometimes it seems too harsh as compared to how the world does it.
A simple example, one to expand on using this verse, happened yesterday. We finished swimming lessons for the kids and they wanted fresh bread from the bakery. I said no, it is trash. And it is. According to one doctor I follow, there are a couple of things in it that are the most harmful out of anything you can eat. First they use vegetable oils, and second the content of the wheat (or more so a soy byproduct filler they use to keep cost down). These two things are the worst things you can put in your body according to him. Now you can argue it is not, or agree, I happen to agree. And the results in my own life show it to be true. I make my own bread using only the best wheat available with no filers. Also using sea salt and olive oil. We also go out of our way for fresh fish, fruits and vegetables as organic as possible. And fresh beef. It would easier to just buy it at the grocery store, but then it is trash.
Now the second point to make, when I told them I was not stopping and why, they attacked me and said I was a hypocrite, to which I asked why? Do you see me eating this trash and not letting you? Then I made a point, in the last month you have had a few birthday pirates with trash foods, including cake and candies. We just had sweet bread a few days ago. We celebrated christmas and New Years… Way too much trash foods. If it had been a month since we ate anything like that, then maybe.
So back to the two points, first is the “eventually” part. When we look around the world, we see so many kids fat, and most have health issues like adhd. All these things are traced back to food and vaccines, which we did not vaccinate our kids (although the girls had some before we adopted). And we limit the trash foods which cause these things. For example this morning my son had for breakfast an egg with my homemade bread, natural 100% organic honey and peanut butter. We did a shaker with blueberries and organic strawberries with raw milk. In this breakfast there is no sugars except natural sugars which do not do the same thing to you as sweetened cereals.
Our kids are very healthy, not fat at all, and get good grades in school. The reason why is discipline to not give in when they want bread from the bakery. And other things. They would eat ice cream daily if we let them. But we know the “eventually” catches up. And we want to instill good habits in them that they care forward through life.
Now the second lesson here is when you do things right, and the people affected from it do not like it. Expect to be attached and called things like a hypocrite. Or selfish (which they also used). Or you are puffed up or have an ego, thinking you are all it… There are many ways people come at you when you do things different according to the Spirit with the discipline he requires. And they do not want to change, but want the results you have. They want the government to give everything to them for free. They want to borrow their way to prosperity, they want to eat whatever and look great, a quick side note to this one. My wife recently went to a hairstylist who posted her visit on social media and it got 1,000s of hits. She just turned 50 and looks great, and the comments from people were all about how they want to look like her when they are 50. She looks like she is still 35 like when we met, and has NEVER done botox or anything like that.
But I also see what she eats, and how we live. How we exercise… This is why, and this is also why these same people will never look like her when they are 50 because they do not do these things nor would they if they had the option. They do not get this part of you reap what you sow, and it “eventually” catches up to you. Over the years we have had many people ask us for help to get healthier or lose weight to look better. And they all quit because they like their trash (or fleshly lifestyle) more than the truth which changes things. Sad to say, I cannot think of even one person who started down the path and continued to the end to change what needed to be changed.
Many times people say to me, do you think you are the only one who is saved? Saying it in a haughty way because of how I speak. To which I say, no there are others, but it is a narrow path, one of serious discipline and very few find it. And I also know what that path is and can see those who are on it, and more so those who started down it and stopped and turned away like the 5,000 in John chapter 6.
The majority stop and do not continue following Yeshua. Their religion, their doctors, their friends all give them an easy way out, telling them everything is good, when the fruit they are bearing is bad. But the crazy thing of this world is we have normalized the bad as just being the way it is. Like we cannot change anything to make a difference. And when someone like me says yes you can change things to make a difference, and tell them the “way” to do it. Or tell them you are not going to help them destroy their health like I did with my kids. They go on attach mode.
This is the worst thing in the eyes of God. This is the judgment, that the light (truth) came into the world wanting to show you how to live a life of worth to God and the best life possible to yourself. But you did not want to change. You liked your trash foods too much, your happy hour and sporting events, you liked flirting with women and the pornography or strip clubs. You liked to live outside your means and travel the world and drive the best cars, have the biggest most expensive home in the best locations. You did not want to give them up so you found men who told you that you did not have to give these things up, that you are saved by a cheap grace that does not exist in the eyes of God, a man made doctrine by twisting a few verses, and ignoring others. Like the verse above, the wording is twisted just enough to give a different message when combined with other twisted verses. Because this verse is clear, we “eventually” will suffer from the bad choices. But IF we live by the Spirit, we will not suffer from those good choices. Yes there will be other suffering like being called names and people making up stories about you. Or maybe bringing up your past life when you were in the flesh making stupid choices like they still do, as if you are still that same man. In their mind they will defend themselves to the end so they do not have to feel the shame of living a life in the flesh, surrounding themselves with other fleshy people so they feel comfortable.
And again, this is what brings on the judgment of God. It is not what you were in the flesh, even hitler could be in heaven, IF he repented. But true repentance requires total obedience to the Spirit and obeying the changes he tells you to make, again not even knowing or understanding why? Because truly what does moving to Mexico have to do with receiving the Spirit? There are people in all parts of the world who receive the Spirit. So it makes no sense, until after you do what he tells you and then you see the differences and the growth as you continue to obey.
You learn them through experiences, not from reading things like I post or the bible or religion. But once again we come back to the same main point, your life in the flesh will “eventually” show its bad fruit in your life. Where a life walking in the Spirit will change it all and “eventually” show that you live a life in the Spirit. God does not take you out of the world, I still live here. But I also do not live according to the world anymore, no more happy hours, strip clubs, sporting events, flirting, spending money we do not have, eating trash… I discipline myself to do it all according to what the Spirit of God has shown me to be his good and perfect will.
That is the difference, I do it and the majority of the people do not. And then they get upset with you when you make a point like this to them and start attacking you, because they do not like feeling like you are better than them in certain ways. But keep in mind someone has to be at the highest level, we are not all the same. For example Michael Jordan played basketball at a level higher than anyone ever. I cannot make any arguments that I could have beat him and been as good as him. That is a foolish argument, yet when it comes to spirituality, the people do not want to feel they are not on the same level as you, and argue so they do not have to change, which is their judgment. Don’t do that, but instead seek the Spirit and change the things in your life the Spirit tells you to change until he runs out of things to change.
Keep this one last point in mind, most people think the people in the book of Acts were born again and had salvation, yet it says they repented or converted their thoughts. This is the starting point not the end point. We make it the end point in the preaching so it makes it easy to be saved, when it is a lie. Because when you look at all the letters of Paul, he is telling these people who were converted how evil they still are to repent, or how good they were doing and keep it up. This is the main message of the letters he wrote. Also the book of revelation tells about the 7 churches in chapter 2 y 3. And all of them except the church in Philadelphia were wrong, with the expectation of a few who had put on the white garments. The rest were all past the “eventually” stage and were bearing bad fruit not worthy of salvation.
The Lord made a simple point to me early this morning again when I first woke up. Which is how perfect heaven is and why. And it is because those who get in have stopped living in the flesh completely, and only do what the Spirit requires. They do not worry about health problems, a spouse cheating on them, getting drunk, flirting and cheating, money issues, naughty kid issues… None of these problems occur in heaven because the people worthy have already changed and do things right. They already proved they can take 5 talents and make it 10. They already proved they can drink of the fruit of the vine without getting drunk. They already proved they will NEVER steal or kill anyone or covet the neighbor’s wife or other assets. They do not put anything above God, no idols or status they pray to and worship. They already proved they love the Lord God with all their minds and souls above all else and only do his will. And therefore heaven is perfect, and those of you who refuse to change your life to be one of perfection will not make the cut no matter what biblical argument you make and believe in.
This is the truth of the Lord Yahweh and his son Yeshua as they show me and change in me and command I share this truth of the good gospel. Hoping that you do not attack me but instead change to know him and obey him unto righteousness. It is the best life you can live while on earth and the only way to the Father (through the son).
