The last few days, maybe months. The Lord has been showing me about wisdom, or more so lack of wisdom in most people. And how frustrating it is to engage in discussions which many times end up in arguments simply because of lack of wisdom.
We have had serious weather as of late, high winds and big downpours with rain, which the combination blows the rain into our glass sliders and makes the rain water enter into the condos. Which then if that is not mopped up as it comes in, seeps to the units below causing problems. We had two units have ceiling damage because of it.
But here is where the dysfunction which is a lack of wisdom comes in. I have had neighbors or other owners say the dumbest things. Like one said the problem was leaks in the roof because the water entered in the middle of her condo. She is on the bottom floor, so in order for this to happen it would have had to come through the roof in my unit on the top floor, then pass through to the next level, through his floor and into her ceiling. I have no water on my floor nor is the ceiling leaking in my unit. And there is nothing in the unit below me like that either. So it is not logical for her assumption, which I know came from the guy here who hates me.
Which brings up the second point, street or God smart versus book smart. It seems the better you are in school, the more you lack wisdom. There are exceptions to this rule but very few. This man who hates me is supposedly an engineer, but he has absolutely no wisdom at all. For example he told me because I made these condos partially out of wood, the insides are wood stick built ,like the USA, that they were going to burn down. Now I am 60 years old and have lived most of my life in all stick built homes, as did my parents and grandparents. And for all these hundreds of years I do not know of one who had a fire which burnt down the house. So why would we?
He also wanted me to put lightning rods on our roof for protection. But protection for what? Because we have no issues with hot humidity we also never have lightning. In the 16 years I have been here, I have seen lighting less than 5 times, and never has it struck the ground or come close. Normally it is a flash across the sky. So if no one has lightning rods in Iowa where you have serious storms with homes 100% of wood. With serious thunderstorms often and tornadoes. Why would we put them here with homes mostly of cement or brick which will not attract lighting nor catch fire? Makes zero sense or zero wisdom.
Another one of our residents wanted me to call the insurance company because of the ceiling damage. Now maybe in California where it costs a lot of money to just get someone to come and look at it, and the permits take forever, costing you 10’s of thousands of dollars. Here it cost maybe $200 dollars which won’t even be covered with the deductible. Plus it wasn’t even his unit to worry about. I told him that yet he still contacted the insurance agent and made problems, or tried to. She did not even respond after she got in touch with me.
So this last example is the main one I want to expand on because here is one of the main reasons things are so expensive in the USA versus here in a third world country (which Mexico is much less a third world country these days and the USA looks much more like one, at least in California). This example is one the Lord made clear to me today and many other days. Using home, car and health insurance.
Everyone complains about the high cost in the USA, and blames greedy insurance companies as the problem. And they have a part in it, but very little. The real problem is instead of people just putting up a new piece of drywall, which cost less than $10 dollars down here, tap it and mud it and then paint it, which to hire someone to do that which would cost maybe $100 dollars. They run to the insurance company who expects a few quotes which come from people who specialize in this and jack the price up a lot.
Even just living here instead of in CA is way less money and less stress. We live on the ocean and our ongoing costs are about $1,800 per year. Living like we do in a similar location in CA oceanfront would cost us over $30,000 a year and would have cost around 10 times more for a similar home.
More examples, when I first moved here, my wife (girlfriend at the time) got in an accident in my car. With the insurance I had we got a quote from the USA, it was over $3,000 to fix. The insurance company wrote me that check, and I got it fixed down here for a little over $300 and pocketed the difference. But you have to ask yourself, why does it cost 10% of the cost in the USA when the locations are literally 10 miles apart?
This is the point, we have costs way out of control and then we choose the option which costs us 10 times more to fix the same thing. Actually in California they just total the car and give you a new one, then send the car to Baja and we have people who fix it up and resell it, giving guys like me really good cars for 50% discount, so they can drive brand new in CA. The car that just died on me was a Prius, we bought it with 50,000 miles and drove it until 210,000 without problems. It probably would have run longer than that but my wife hit a big pot hole and it never really recovered. I paid $10,500 dollars for it when all the rest without an accident were going for $18,000 or more. Every car I have owned down here in Baja for 16 years now is like this, we saved a bunch at the cost of the CA people in insurance cost because they do these things. We also save a bunch of money on clothes, shoes and other items because they have stupid laws for shop lifting which say if the theft is not over $1,000 then no crime. So people steal $900 dollars of stuff, bring it down here and sell it for $250 dollars. We get brand new stuff for little money, while the CA people do nothing about it. Then they wonder why the cost of their clothes, shoes and other items is so high?
We keep seeing these crazy people who think they are dogs, glad there are none down here that I have seen. If one of my kids came home and said they were a dog, I would get them over it quickly. I would put a chain on them, feed them dog food and water in a bowl, make them sleep on a mat on the floor, and make them pee in public. It would not take long for them to stop acting like that.
I can go on and on about stupidity in action. It seems to get worse daily. If people would stop a minute to analyze things, and figure out how they work. They would save themselves a lot of headaches, frustrations and money. But they don’t do that, they just speak from the top of their head, most of the time repeating something stupid they heard from another stupid person or on TV. Normally something that has been repeated over and over to confuse you or make you believe an agenda. Like 2020 covid. Everything they told us is stupidity at the highest, yet people obeyed and did it and ridiculed those of us with any common sense to know it was ridiculous. Like how is it not safe to be without a mask entering into a restaurant or on an airplane, but when you sat down at your seat or was eating you could take it off? Or if you had 5 classmates the virus would not spread, but with more than 5 it would??? The deal with covid nothing made sense yet people still followed their ridiculous made up rules (except me and my family).
Then there is food, and the lies about it most people believe. For a simple example, people drank raw milk for 1,000s of years, and we do when we can. We have a local farmer who milks cows without hormones and good feed. We NEVER get sick. So why do health agencies like the FDA push pasteurized milk? And vaccines and medications… We do not give our kids vaccines, nor meds the few times they get the sniffles. And they are more healthy than any of the cousins or friends who get vaccines and take drugs when they get the sniffles.
These same kids run to the doctor to get these expensive drugs, charging an insurance company to pay for them, and then wonder why their health insurance bill keeps going up so much, when years ago it was so little money? Why was it so cheap before? Because we ate real food and drank real milk and did not run to the doctor for meds when we had the sniffles. Nor did we get 100s of vaccine shots. And the funny thing or lack of wisdom part is the normal person today is much more sick than ever, and much fatter.
But we do not have the wisdom to put two and two together to see what caused it, but instead just follow the crowd. And the crazy thing about following the crowd is we follow these same “educated” people like my enemy who says we need lightning rods. Why do we follow them? Because they believe the worldly educated over the wisdom of God. And the worldly educated, doctors, lawyers, engineers… Are all educated by the same people who convinced us the food they make is healthy and the food God made is unhealthy, and have kept these lies up even though the evidence is staring us in our faces. Just look around you and how many people are fat these days. Statistically it is over 50% where when I was a kid it was under 1%.
This is the bigger problem, which is it affects us all. With so many fat people, it drives up health care costs, makes it difficult when sitting next to someone on a plane or bus or trolley. Many times we have to care for them, like I do for my dad who had a stroke because he ate terribly. In some cases it is a good thing for those who see it, like us getting cheap cars and almost free brand new shoes and clothes. Another quick example: I bought a pair of leather Italian shoes which are worth $1,000 dollars for $200 pesos (about $10 dollars) in a swap meet. I think they are used although it’s hard to tell they look brand new.
I can go on and on about the lack of wisdom with people, who actually follow and believe the “educated people” simply because they have a degree over someone like me. I have also had many people ridicule me for being a salesman and businessman. Like it is something the stupid people do (well there is truth to that because I barely made it through school, getting bad grades). But then I look at businessmen I know, and the most successful financially speaking are always businessmen. If you look at the list of billionaires, it is always businessmen or investors. You will NEVER see a doctor or lawyer on the list. Yet what do these men know with their billions of dollars, they are not educated.
Elon Musk said “I do not have a degree from Harvard, but I have many people working for me who do.” It seems that makes the point?
We also get ridiculed for driving older cars instead of brand new, and for shopping in the swap meet. But when I wore my $200 peso Italian shoes to a wedding not long ago, they were the talk of the wedding. Everyone loved them and thought we paid 1,000’s for them.
Last point, which is the main point. I can go on and on with examples and it seems every single thing is like this. If the world says it is good for you, it is normally bad, and vice versa. Exactly what God said as recorded in scripture. “What God thinks is good, man sees as bad. And what God sees as bad, man sees as good. God also tells us to look at the fruit you are bearing, is it good or bad results?
Because I follow the wisdom of God and not the ways of men, my fruit is extremely good, not because of me, but because of God. The glory goes to God and his perfect ways. The fruit I bear is being in excellent shape with my health, our wealth, our family relations. But mostly my spiritual health or relationship with God. And we do everything the opposite of what the “educated people” say to do. And I look at the “educated people” who do things the way of the world and most are fat and unhealthy, have no wealth, and have no idea who God is or what he expects. Many know what their preachers tell them about the god they want to believe in, because they are “educated people” in their religion. But the fruit they bear is normally not good fruit at all in many ways.
If you are in the wisdom of God and follow his commands, it is NOT possible to bear bad fruit. Your fruit will be good, 100% of the time! It can only be bad when you do not obey. God says if you lack wisdom, ask him as he gives it freely to anyone. The reason you lack wisdom is you do not seek it.
