Do you have many sins?

“Because of this, I tell you that her sins — which are many! — have been forgiven, because she loved much. But someone who has been forgiven only a little loves only a little.”  Luke 7:47

A few days ago I watched a movie about George Foreman the boxer, it actually was a very good movie, I did not know he had his moments with God, real moments, like I have had.  He then became a preacher.

The reason I bring it up is because of this verse I read today.  He who has been forgiven a little loves little, but he who is forgiven much loves a lot more.  Yeshua has made this point to me over and over, that most people live fairly “good” lives according to their own ideas of being “good.”  And because of it they never really seek for God and find him.  They have their religion and their beliefs about a god who does not exist, not the real God of the bible anyways even though they read the bible.  Which amazes me how 100 different people can read the bible and get 100 different ideas of who God is.  We make a god into our own image instead of allowing the true God to reveal himself to us.

In my life I know God revealed himself to me, and washed me clean in his blood, I went through the process And like Paul I fought the good fight and finished the race.  I ran it in such a way to win the prize.  Religious people do feel they have to do that, they think Yeshua did it all on the cross or their confession will save them.

George was different the way the movie portrayed him.  He knew something happened inside him, and he started to bear the good fruit worthy of repentance.  Like myself, one of the first things I did was go to a few people I needed to apologize to, including my ex wife (who made it like she was the good one and it was all me who was wrong).  George did the same thing.  Which makes the point of a religious person and a man of the Spirit.  I did not care that she had that attitude, she can have it.  I am the one set free, not her because of the way God had me do things.  And she refused to do things according to God.

This is the point, we as men think everything is OK the way we are, if we really believed we were not OK with God, and our religion was a big part of the problem, don’t you think a lot of people would be changing to do things differently?  We don’t because we are blind to the truth and think everything is OK, and we are OK the way we are.  There are some people who are atheist and do not believe in God or an afterlife, and some people who believe in a God but feel they did too many bad things and cannot make amends.

But isn’t that what this verse is about?  The ones who did the most wrong in life are the ones who really repent and seek God?  This man Yeshua had dinner with thought he was a good man, and actually in his mind was condemning the woman exactly because of this, she was a whore and did many bad things.

As Yeshua also said you do not need a doctor if you are healthy, he did not come to call the righteous to repentance but the sinners.  How can we get this simple point wrong?  And ignore all the places where it tells us we all fall short and have sinned?  Yes there are different levels of sin, and sin against the body is one of the worst (both sexual sin and abusing the body with food, drugs, alcohol).  The biggest sin in the eyes of God is putting up idols or fake gods in front of him.  I really do not know a religion that does not do this, they have made a religious god who does not do any of the things it says in the bible.  We have changed scripture, changed how we interpret scripture, each of the 50 different bibles tell a different story and of the 1,000’s of religions bible based, each has a different twist on it, otherwise we would still only have one.

In Yeshua there is only one.  We are one with him and do what he shows us, we walk according to him.  Which is not easy because he does not give us a 1 year and 5 year plan so we know where we are going and what will happen.  Tomorrow will have its own problems, so just focus on today.

Since I moved here to Mexico, my life has changed dramatically for the better.  And the reason I thought I was moving here was actually not even close to the truth.  And most of the planning I did, none of it materialized.  A business man or salesman like me is trained to make plans and follow them.  But the Lord is the opposite, no plans.

With God I have had him stop me when I wanted to invest some money, and other times he made it clear to invest when I was not really so excited about it.  He let me believe I would be a missionary the rest of my life and then got me back into sales.  I thought I would never get remarried as the “church system” frowns on it, and God brought me Cinthya.  I thought our marriage would be the best ever with no problems because we both were seeking God, but we have had many arguments as he works into us somethings we need to work out.

George was similar, he stopped boxing when he found God and swore he would never fight again, but God had a different plan for him, so he did at 40 years old and won the title again at 45.  Which is another thing, God has no age limits, no restrictions in what he will do in a man who is obeying him.  And I have found God usually goes after guys like me and George, men who have some sort of attitude, my wife has a similar attitude.  Look also at Jacob who became Israel, of the two sons of Isaac, he was the worst one and cheated his brother.  But he is the one God chose.  God also chooses men like Gideon who are weak, but men he knows he can make strong in him.  A strong man in himself will not seek God and to do things his way.

The one constant is God seeks hearts he can shape and mold into a heart of his own.  Strong or weak.  God’s ways are nothing like how man thinks they are, and this is why most men never find him.  This along with the fact most men do not like the Lord prodigy around in their inner self showing them their darkness or sin, showing them who they really are in his eyes.  And the funny thing is never once did I hear any preacher talk about this, but it is clear in John 3 that men liked the darkness more than the light so they hide themselves or ignore the light shining into them.  So they remain in their sin and never repent.

But then why would they repent if they believe their god Jesus did it all on the cross so they do not have to do anything?
