He is precious; but to those who are disobedient. “The stone which the builders rejected, Has become the chief cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.1 Peter 2:7-8
As I continue to read the letters from Peter, John and Jude, the same message pops out which is do you obey the word or disobey the word? Keep in mind the teachings today are very wrong when they push the bible as the word, the word is and always was Yashua. Keep in mind there is no way it could have been a bible because the bible did not exist, the old testament scripture existed but they had no way to mass produce it so everyone had a copy. And if it did they would have said obey the torrah or scripture and not the word. Because it is clear many times over, when they spoke of the word, they were referring to Yashua, the hearing and obeying him. And keep in mind Peter had no idea when he wrote this that his letter would someday be in something called a bible, so how could he be referring to a book as the word?
The second thing which is clear in Peters letters is the subject of false teachers and prophets, and as John wrote, we are to have nothing to do with them which do not bring the same doctrine as they had.
Now it is not the doctrine that saves you, that is the job of the word. But when the sinful men heap up a different doctrine or gospel, one that focuses on the bible as the word, and grace saves you so you can keep sinning. Or confession and the ‘holy eucharist’ will save you. Then we have a problem, because the doctrine is telling you a lie that when you hear it you do not get the same affect you would get when you know Yashua and know what he expects, and know he is capable of setting you free from sin.
No man can overcome sin by himself, it is the work of Yashua, but we must work out what he works in. And the problem becomes when we make it about a doctrine other than the simple truth of hear and obey Yashua. Then the men will never know the real power of Yashua. They do not feel the same need or power to overcome, it is no0t even an option in their doctrine because no one overcomes according to the unbelievers who teach such lies. And the funny thing is they quote the verses like John 3:16 about believing and pretend they are true believers when they are not. They believe in their doctrine and idea of the son of God, but do not know him nor even call him by his proper name.
And when you point this out to them, they seem to really believe in there doctrine as being the truth, way and light. And I will give them a little credit because we do need to read and understand the scriptures, and the more you obey the truth the better your life will be with less sin. But any doctrine other than what Yashua brought and the apostles taught is plain wrong and will never lead you down the correct path.
I have seen this in my own life, while being a catholic and not really repenting of my sins, which then got worse and worse, with no conviction. The catholic religion just tells you to do confession and all is good again, giving you the option to keep doing the sin. And most catholics I knew or hung with did the same sins, so you had your support group and no reason to stop or feel guilty. It wasn’t until that sin got so bad, to a level of the prodigal son, that my life fell apart and the sin destroyed me. Then when seeking answers from God and not justifying my sinful life by my religious beliefs. That is when the Lord spoke to me and the relationship started.
At first I did not understand the obedience thing, I knew I should but because of the religions doctrine I went to (which at this point I was trying many different churches because one by one they did not add up to what the Lord was showing me from the bible.) He had to make me to be a baby with the knowledge I had learned and erase it all and teach it correctly. This is what he meant by being born again, we cannot keep the same doctrine the world taught us and build on it. It is the concept of building your home on the sand, it cannot work. We must allow the Lord to tear down what ever we built and rebuild it from the beginning on a solid foundation, the rock, Yashua himself.
Over and over in the bible it is taught we need to hear and obey the Lord. That’s it, nothing more or nothing less. This is the main point of the doctrine, when we make it about other things we lose sight of the Lord. If we do this one thing, seeking the Lord with all our heart, with total abandoned to him. And give him 100%, there is no question that you will find him and his truth and will work out what he is working in you.
But if you follow any other doctrine no matter how good it sounds, a doctrine which does not involve the hearing of the Lord and obeying him. It is for nothing, it will never save you. I invite you to read all of the letters from Peter, John and Jude. This same message is pushed by them all, and they all make it clear we are to be perfect and Holy in him and if you are not it is your fault because the short is you are not hearing and obeying Yashua and are still a part of the world which is under the control and power of satan.
Our choice is not to sin or not sin, our choice is who do we want to obey. Do we remain in obedience to the flesh and satan, or have we surrendered to the Lord Yashua, the Messiah and obey his commands he gives to us directly? John especially makes this point and tells us clearly if you are still in sin it is because you are still under the power of satan and he is your father. Yashua also made this clear when he told the Pharisees their father was satan. And when he spoke to Peter and said to him “get behind me satan.” Now obviously eventually Peter did receive the Spirit and did come to know and obey the Lord in all things, then his Father became Yahweh.
And this is one of the points also, when John writes something like 1:8 about he who says he has no sin is a liar. It is with this idea of all of us are sinners in the flesh, and we must understand this and repent of the things the Lord shows us to repent of. Things you do wrong you had no idea where wrong. Because most of us think we are good people the way we are. But John also makes it clear we will change “IF” we are truly in Yashua and repent and obey what he shows us. Then we will no longer be under the power of sin and death. It is as plain as day and night. Light and dark. There is no dusk or gray area with God, you either follow the light or dark. We make our life gray by obeying some of the things of God written in the bible, and then obeying our flesh and satan on others. But this life is not in the light and not of God. We must be 100% in with Yashua in order to overcome and be presented Holy before the throne of God. And you cannot do this with the wrong doctrine and building your home on the sand.
One last point Yashua showed me today, which is now also go back and read the letters of Paul, because his letters get twisted more than any. But if you read them with the idea of knowing and obeying Yashua, and not about a book called the bible or a religion and their men teachers. Then you will see he also was teaching the same message. He even clearly says it in Ephesians 4:20-21 “But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus.” It does not get any more clear than this does it? He says clearly do you hear him and are taught by him as he is the truth.
Many make Paul their teacher, and then twist the doctrine he speaks of so that it is about this fake grace he never taught. Ignoring and changing verses like Ephesians 4 to suit their doctrine so that it is not about hearing and obeying Yashua, but that we need to practice some other sort of doctrine or religious beliefs which ignore the Spirit and in some cases teach us to blasphemy the Holy Spirit by taking what the Spirit is trying to show us is bad and calling the Spirit evil believing it is of satan, because their god would never convict his sons of sin and wrong doing. Their god is based on a fake idea of love where he allows sin and dysfunction in his life and kingdom. satan wants you to believe this lie and keep you from the truth and righteousness in Yashua.
So, you have to make a choice, do you continue down the same path with unrighteous works? Or are3 you ready to try and see if what I am saying is correct and do righteous works because you obey the rock, the Lord, the truth? The choice is yours and no one else. As of now you probably see me as crazy because it all goes against your beliefs. But try it, seek the Lord, seek the truth and when you start to hear Yashua, then listen and obey. and you also will find him as the only option to the Father and why he is and why your religious beliefs are not.
Until then you will simply be building a house on sand which someday will fall, and believe in a god who does not exist, reaming in your sin and thinking it is normal. That’s one thing the Lord keeps making a point of about satan, he makes all the fall out from sin normal where people just think it is part of life. It is normal to be fat, sick, broke chasing the American dream. And that anyone who is healthy and of good height and weight, takes care of his finances, lives a clean life and without sin, is either just lucky or lying. But the liar is satan, not God, and not what I am telling you which is of the true living God.
