“The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.” Matthew 11:19
Yeshua also said we would drink of the vine in heaven. I personally like wine. We drink a glass or two almost daily. Paul also wrote in Timothy 5:13 “No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities.”
Now there are all kinds of verses which tell us to not drink in excess or also if it causes another to get drunk and sin. So the point of the message from Yeshua is it always depends. It depends on you and your ability to handle the wine and are you right with Yeshua. I see many videos about drinking and how we should never drink even wine.
And the simple point of it is they take the verses which tell us not to and ignore the ones which says we should, or will.
In the end it is about your personal relationship with Yashua, and doing what he tells you to do. There is nothing wrong with wine, however if you cannot handle it and get drunk every time you drink it, then don’t. In my life I have found that although I use to like to get drunk and drank to the limit many times. Now in the Spirit I cannot drink that much, the Spirit stops me when enough is enough.
So the point is if you have the Spirit you should be able to drink a glass or two of wine without the need to overdo it. There is a very big difference in walking in the flesh and trying to stop sinning, and walking in the Spirit where sin cannot touch you. As Pau wrote above, wine not only is ok, but it helps your gut and infirmities. Wine and grapes have some good health benefits if taken in the right way. The question is are you using it in the right way or not?
Those of us who completely surrendered ourselves to the Lord and walk with him will drink from the fruits of the vine with him in heaven, those who do not know him and do not walk in his Spirit will not.
The point of the message this evening is the same as always, do you walk with God, or do you listen to some men teachers who tell you things like never drink, never get married or whatever? The men make up doctrine of what you should or should not do and throw in a couple of bible verses with their doctrine to support it. But men in the Spirit do not make these judgments, instead we simply point people to the Lord and let him convict them of whatever sin or dysfunction they have.
The point of this message is much bigger than if you should or should not drink wine. It is about following men teachers and their doctrine they impose upon you verse hearing and obeying the Lord. Man teachers will be manipulative 99.9% of the time. It is so simple to take a few verses and change the meaning slightly and then offer them up as something of God. Telling you a completely opposite message of the truth in Yeshua. Men have been doing this from the beginning of time, even Eve was fooled by the serpent to believe the fruit of the forbidden tree was good and in their advantage to eat from.
The point should be made by now, but why do we choose to eat of the fruit of the forbidden tree which God told us clearly not to, and then obey a voice which tells us we are better off if we do not do as God says? This is what it comes down to. Do you obey God or your own way or the way of the religious church system and their men teachers who do not even know God, no matter how well they know the bible? The devil can make the bible lie to you if you let him, but if you know God and seek him and then obey him, he will NEVER lie. He is truth and wisdom (light).
A simple question for those who question this. What does it cost you to seek truth? And be open to the Lord then speaking to you? It costs you nothing. If you do not hear the Lord or find him to be a liar, then at least you tried. But if you never try to hear him and then obey what he tells you, then hell is your final destination. You may disagree based on your personal belief system, but your personal belief system is not what God’s is. I know because I used to believe the same and the same to know the Lord and found out my beliefs were a lie. If you really seek the Lord you will find out so are yours. Because no man who is born in the flesh (the first birth) can understand the things of God no matter how religious they are. It takes the Spirit of God to achieve what God expects. We can try really hard and never achieve, or simply surrender to God and overcome. Yeshua said we must overcome to enter into the Kingdom, not study and read a lot, or listen to men teachers.
