Sometime in the middle of the night, the Lord decided to wake me up and teach me, an on going teaching based on some things my wife is going through which then affect us all.
The short of it is she hurt her back pretty bad and through it she is allowing her emotions to get the best of her instead of seeking truth which sets us free. At the same time the Lord put the song “Higher Love” by Steve Winwood on my mind, so this morning I listened to it and did it with the lyrics so I could see exactly what it was saying. After doing this it all made a lot of sense.
To try to keep this short and make sense of it all, we in the flesh do things and seek to have our emotions and feelings acknowledged. Everything revolves around this and it makes us like the waves of the ocean being tossed to and fro. Like Yo yo going up and down, like a roller coaster ride.
The people of the world look to this and seek people to cry with them, be happy with them… Basically to ride this roller coaster with them. And this is the just of what Yashua showed John in Revelations about the whore church, because none of the church systems tell you to die onto yourself or deny yourself. They might through the verse out there, and then just leave it and not explain what this looks like, because of they did their building would be empty. People want to hear what they want to hear, and have their feelings known. And they want men to tell them it is good and of God, but it is not. And this is why when we think our works are good, God still sees them as bad. There are other reasons also for this teaching, but this is basically the main one. We do things based on emotion and feelings instead of on truth, and because we have been taught it is good, we are helping people get through tough times, the question becomes are we? Or are we getting in the way of something God is trying to do to break the other person of this delusion of believing we need to deal with their emotions and tell them what they want to hear?. Tell them and do things to help them ease the pain they are feeling.
God allowed the pain, and it is for a purpose. No matter if it is a physical or emotional pain, all suffering works to the good of those who worship and serve the Lord. The problem is we do not see the suffering as something that God allowed, but it always is.
This suffering comes either from something we did to bring it on ourselves, which is the main way they come. In this case it was my wife working out to hard and in the wrong way. I even warned her she was going to get hurt, something I have done many times before and she has experienced before. This time however it is a more serious injury than before.
So here is how we in the flesh act, we are warned to not do something because it will cause problems, and we ignore it. It might be a message from a friend, family member or from God either a direct message or through the bible. But we ignore it. Then we suffer from the disobedience, and we want everyone to feel sorry for us and attend to our needs to help us out.
The other suffering comes from other people, they do not act the way we expect, maybe because of a simple misunderstanding, nothing malicious or mean willed. Just a difference of personality or culture. Cinthya and I have had many of these over the years because of the culture of Mexico and the US, not in saying either culture is good or bad, just different, and it causes problems at times if we allow our feelings to come into the picture. In this deal with Cinthya’s back and how I acted in some cases it is again a problem. What she expects of me, as if to read her mind and then do it her way and me not, she gets upset, which on top of it you have physical pain to deal with and lack of sleep so it gets magnified.
So back to the higher love song and part of this. Steve sings of a higher love and seeking it. And this is the point of God. Over and over the Lord tells me that real love (another song he has put on my mind many times by the Doobie brothers). That his perfect love is the opposite of what we want to believe it is and when walking in the flesh we still believe it is the love of God, but is the opposite.
God is not trying to raise a bunch of disobedient cry baby’s, who rely on their feelings to get through life and ride the roller coaster all day every day. God knows if you are going to have a good life you must stop leaning on your own understanding, and start seeking the truth in God and then obey what he shows you. And the thing that happens is he leads you to this higher love, this real love.
Many times I have written about how in our new home, living high up on a bluff overlooking the pacific ocean and the views seem to go on forever. And the old song “sitting on top of the world and looking down on creation…” And the symbolism of how God has opened my eyes to so many things and I see him now, just like Job declared. I have lived Jobs lesson out in my life and seeked the will of God above my feelings and emotions and stopped doing things my own way and do it only the Lords way.
In sitting on top of the world, and having my eyes opened, I understand what this higher love is. I understand how or why we must live by faith and not by sight. Our human nature sight leaves us blind Spiritually, where when you stop living by your feelings and live in the truth then life is so much better, but it all goes against our will and way of living, the way we were brought up to believe in.
So this brings us back to cultural ways to live. The Mexicans are very family orientated and there is a deep co dependency because of it. The Us people like me are so success driven we seem to have lost completely any love at all. Each side cannot see the problems with how we were brought up, but it is easy to see the problems in the other side. We are drawn to the other side but then at the same time we try to change the other person to our way of living. It never works, nor is it of God.
This then goes back to real faith, if we listen to him, let him teach us. He will use your culture and your wife’s to teach you what is wrong in both and what is good, and how to blend them into a perfect higher Love and way of life. Relate this example to your situation, because very few of the people who will read this are dealing with a spouse from a different culture, but we all are dealing with relationships where the spouse or friend or coworker or neighbor, whoever. Comes from a completely different background and upbringing and how those differences neither all good nor all bad are affecting us.
The point is the Lord is trying to show us things in everything in life, but most of the problems comes from relationships, which God allows because it is how he teaches us to understand how to live by faith and not sigh and obtain this higher love he wants for us. One where we live in faith and not our emotions. We must go completely against how we are currently and fight the nature in us so we learn the new way to live in Yashua. This means a few things, first is we must spend time alone with him listening to him. Because I cannot lead you to this higher love, I can only give you the basic understanding. But then most of you will not understand what I am saying or dismiss it as nonsense because it goes completely against everything you learned and against h3e major religions in this world, including the two of the bible, Jewish and :”Christian.”
Many times I have been taught and then explained to anyone listening, that over and over the people disobeyed the Lord, he sends a prophet or even the son and they kill them all, ignoring the message because it goes against their religious beliefs and who they want their God to be. And satan is right there to lie to you and make you believe you are right in your religious beliefs and anyone who knows the truth is a liar. Because satan is a liar from the begging and the father of all lies. In other words it all comes from him first even though we do not know it.
This keeps us blind and on a roller coaster ride, being tossed to and fro like the waves, remaining in a fake love that is really sinful in nature and keeps us in sin and bondage. It keeps us blind and then we lead the blind and all fall into a ditch and do not understand why, then chalk it off to bad luck or that God does not lo9ve us or doesn’t exist because he does not fit into our view of him.
Non of this is love, and as you start to see it and then live in his Love, he brings you up higher and opens your eyes to see. And as you see the sinful selfish nature in us stops and we walk in oneness with the Lord. In the Lord there is no sin.
The reason men cannot believe you can walk without sin is because they do not understand nor want to give up this right to their self (their emotions and feelings.) But once you do then you start to see. And little by little, test after test, trial after trial. The vision becomes clearer and clearer. And you will then see God for who he is. This cannot be learned in church or a bible or from another man, it is taught by the Spirit and the son. Do you know them? Are you willing to let them lead you to a higher Love?
