Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:5
The Lord has been showing me on a deep level about the concept of a hypocrite and along the same lines how we expect a lot out of other people, and when they do not do things at the level we expect or in a way we expect, we get all upset, very similar to a child throwing a temper tam tram.
Many times in my lifetime I have been accused of not being a true Christian because of the way I am. They are not accusing me of sin, because what I did is not in sin. It is just doing something that goes against the way they think other people should act. And the funny thing is I have seen these people then tell their kids they are doing wrong while the kids are doing exactly the same things they are.
Yashua said in Luke 19:42 ““If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.” What we do not get about life is if we have this attitude where we expect others to live in a certain way, and indirectly believing if they do not do things a certain way they cannot be right with God. Because God would expect the person to do what is pleasing to them.
The problem with this is it takes your peace, the person who expects it. They are always disappointed because the other person never is able to live up to the level they expect. It is not possible, we cannot read their mind to know what they expect. And for that person it takes their peace. They are never happy.
On the contrary what God does is he puts you with people who are completely opposite of you to help you figure out many things, it is designed to complete you. Many times Yashua has shown me and I have written about it, that he brought Cinthya my wife and I together for this purpose. My thought when we met was we both were on a path to know God so everything would be perfect. However that was a bad lie I believed. What it really is about is to show me how wrong our American way is and to show her how wrong the Mexican way is. How there is some good and much bad in both. To blend the two into our lives making known what is righteousness in the eyes of God, at least as long as we keep focused on Yahsua and not on our fleshly desires. It is not easy to undo all the things the world, our family and friends and teachers have shown us over the years and relearn the ways of God, but we must in order to be presented blameless in the eyes of God.
God hates hypocritical behavior. Yashua said you will be judged according to how you judge, this statement is exactly about this subject because the things we get upset with other people about are normally the same things we do ourselves. And even if they are not, it does not matte because we must first remove the log from our own eye before we can help our brother.
So here is something to really understand, we must get to where we expect others to be like this, or however they are. It is human nature and we all live in human nature and all of us are born into the human nature and must be reborn out of the human nature into the Spiritual nature of God in order to be saved. And this does not happen early on in life because you were baptized or something. So the short is we must understand people will be like they are and will always revert back to that behavior because it is in their nature. And it is not that they cannot overcome it, because we all can overcome in Yashua anything and everything. But most believe the religious lie they are told and do not do the work necessary to overcome and understand. In seeing they do not see and in hearing they do not hear…
This is one of the biggest things of God is to come to an understanding of what God expects from you and others. And for him to show you who you are in the flesh and who they are and then how to be like God the Father expects you to be, which means you will live very different than what others think you should live like. Because not one lives like the Father expects from the first birth, we must relearn everything. And Yashua said they will hate you because they first hated me. And we will be like our teacher. The simple point is the people will not like who you become in Yashua, he is very different and expects things to be very different than what you have been taught in your religion from a man teacher who does not know Yashua, but instead knows what he was taught about the son of God from other men teachers.
This is why Yashua tore into the Pharisees so often, they expected the son of God to be very different than he was, and to act very different, to give them the respect they thought they deserved, instead of a man coming along and pointing out what they were doing wrong, and why they believed wrong. They did not like the light which would have changed them and stayed in the darkness.
This is a tough thing to explain and put into words the things God has shown me, but to try and sum it up. If you are willing to let Yashua shine his light into you, then you start to see who you are in his eyes and it is not good. You see how evil you really are in the eyes of the Father, we all are evil. But we do not have to stay evil, the light also shows us the way to do things right so we are pleasing if we obey those ways to live going forward. And this is where grace comes in, we are forgiven because we did not know who we were before the light. There is no forgiveness if you stay in the dark after the light comes, this is the judgment.
After you take the log out of your eye, then the Lord expects you to help others, but they won’t want it, because this light hurts when it shows them the truth about who they are. They will judge you in their words, but when you point out the light, they will hate you and call you judgmental when you are not judging, you’re just telling them what God expects and they are not doing it. In the minds of the evil man in the flesh they seem to think there is no way to change so you are judging. But the reality is you are telling them what the judgment of God is and that they must and can change, but it is their decision to do so or not.
Most people do NOT like the changes they see in you, your changes many times make them feel inferior and feel the condemnation or judgment they do not want to feel. I cannot tell you how many times I get told how wrong I am because I choose to spend time with the Lord alone at his feet instead of like Mary busy serving others based on how I think I should or how men teachers in a church system tell me I should. But the problem is they are all doing works which keep themselves and others in sin, it is not the work of God, it is their own works based on what they believe the Lord expects.
What the Lord expects and what we think he expects when in the flesh are two very different things and again why the Pharisees had so many problems with the son of God when they should have been in awe of him.
Don’t ever expect anything from other people, actually the opposite expect them to not do it the way you expect them to. And if you ever are born again you will know they certainly will not understand the light and do it Gods way. And they will not like it when you do follow the Way of the light and do things Gods way. The men cannot get it, and will hate it for many reasons, some of which are shown above.
But a true son of God does not judge these people, he instead points this problem out to them and hopes they see it and turn from this to righteousness. The same with all the truths of God, when you have taken the log out of your own eye, then we are to help take the speck out of our brothers. The problem becomes the brother does not want you to help with the speck because they think it is OK to have a speck in their eye, and many times they know you had a log in comparison to their speck so they thin who is this guy to help? I know who he is. But the problem is they know who you were apart from Yashua, not who you are in Yashua the son of God.
