“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.” Matthew 7:13
This teaching is a continuation of the last one of Understanding. The last one was long and in more depth, this one will be short because it is a simple concept, yet most do not even get it in their religious views. The bible and teachings of men of the things of a false god which keeps men from the real God and his truth, has become the wide and easy path. Yeshua said this to the religious men, not to the gentiles or other religions. This verse applies to us, all of us Jews, gentiles alike.
How do we not understand we remain in our sin and claiming a sinners pray saved us is not part of the easy wide path?
Or if you are catholic, how do you not understand confession is not biblical and the “holy eucharist” is not going to save you? Those are easy things to do. They cost you nothing. And you do not receive the “Spirit” by confirmation, a traditional process of learning and never coming to an understanding.
We also must pay attention to the fruit we are bearing. Is it sinful or sin free? Is there destruction or dysfunction in your life, or not? Keep in mind there will be people around you who practice lawlessness and bring destruction to you in different forms, some more so than others. You cannot stop it unless you move to some deserted island where it is only you living. But that is not the way of Yeshua and what he expects. He walked amongst the sinners of sinners and saved some of them. But he never accepted them as sinners in his life. He accepted them “IF” they knew they needed to change and “IF” they knew he was the Son of God and the one who could change them. Yeshua never made it OK to remain in your sin and destruction, he always called everyone to find the narrow path which is difficult.
The old testament system of sacrificing a dove or sheep for the sins was not working, it was the easy way. And it also was not a way to a sin free life. Yeshua had to be sacrificed and then send his Spirit back into the world for any man to be able to enter into the Kingdom of God free from sin. But it can only be done with the Helper, the Holy Spirit leading you.
Even the prophets saw the future with the Holy Spirit and wish they could have lived in our times where we can have the helper. They saw how much easier it is with the yoke of Yeshua. Now some of you might be thinking, your using the word easy? What you must understand is a life in the Spirit becomes easy because so much of the destruction or dysfunction leaves because of hearing and obeying the way and truth in Yeshua. He gives you a simple life of peace, real peace. BUT it is difficult to find this path because it requires the giving uop the right of yourself to make your own decisions and requires you to allow the Spirit of God direct your steps or path or way, and him be the truth you follow and stop following the lies yo used to follow which kept you in sin.
The church system today is a lie and keeps you in lies and sin. All of them. Only a man telling you to seek Yeshua and his Spirit and listen and obey him is on the narrow path which very few find. It would be nice if the bible spelled it out more clear as the way Yeshua teaches me. But then maybe the unchanged version did? Keep in mind they started changing doctrine and the words written in the bible since the very beginning. And it has been changed many times over since, more so the last few decades. And second, if the bible spelled things our clearly so everyone could come to an understanding and become sin free because of the bible, then why would you need Yeshua and the Spirit?
The bible and church system was never created to be salvation or the way. It is only to be a tool to help the helper, the Holy Spirit in teaching you. It is simply a text book. We must know the one the text book tells us about, then obey what he tells us unto righteousness and a sin free life.
Last point, you cannot believe in your version of God as being God and think you believe in God as Yeshua said in John 3:16. Unless you hear and then obey God, you do not believe in the true living God but your version of a made up god who is more to your liking. Many think because you believe a God exists you are saved because of John 3:16, but that is a lie also. To really believe means you know him and obey his wisdom and instructions and are converted from a life of sin apart from him into a life of righteousness in him. This is what it means to believe and lines up with what truth is still in the bible, as again much of it has been changed.
