Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
Another one of those verses which can easily be twisted, for two reasons. First we think if we edify someone (that is tell them the truth they really do not want to hear) we are saying corrupt words. Second, because we do not understand what real grace is because of the lies of the modern church, we take it to mean the opposite. That Paul is telling us to indirectly tell people what their itching ears want to hear.
However this is not what it is saying, especially when you bring in the other verses around this one, especially 4:20-21 “But you have not so learned Yeshua, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Yeshua. This verse makes it so clear we are to hear him, then obey, yet because of modern religious beliefs that God does not talk to us anymore, the hearing of the son is only through the bible. This is a lie, the Lord does speak to us and if you do not listen you sign your death certificate to a life without God in hell.
That is the first part of the message today, and rest is a continuation or variant of it. Which is that we take these verses out of context to support people in sin. Or we do not even care about the Lord and anything written in the bible and we side with the ones in sin out of compassion or sympathy. Most christians say we are to have compassion and sympathy but that is not what the Lord wants at all, nor is it biblical. But they take one verse and twist to make their case and ignore all the rest.
First example, I got into a conversation about Charlie Kirk, supporting what he said, because what he said is mostly 100% truth. The thing I do not support with Charlie is the fact he pushed religion and not knowing and obeying Yeshua. He was pushing the idea of being right in and of your own decisions and ways, which is not possible. Something discussed over and over, and why we must know Yeshua and obey him.
The video was supporting the sin and dysfunction of the gay, transgender… people. And going against what Charlie said, using the verse “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” That verse exists, however when Yeshua went to the woman caught in adultery he did NOT say go and live your life as you want, I will cover your sin and not see it. Instead Yeshua said, “go and sin no more.” Yeshua always made the point that sin is bondage, slavery. We must break that bondage and get set free.
This is another point Charlie never really pushed, he told people what is right and wrong, but never gave the idea that your choices are what is keeping you in the sin, and if you change those decisions and do things right, then you can be set free. But Yeshua never accepts a person into his Kingdom if they choose to keep sinning. And most christian religions these days push the idea that you will remain in sin and it’s OK, just be a “good person.”
On the side of Charlie, he had a “form of godliness, but denies him his power, and from such stay away.” There is no question Charlie had a form of godliness, he knew his bible and lived a pretty moral life. But he denied God his power for himself and others. In the end it makes it about Charlie and not Yeshua.
Here is the second example, of a couple who bought into my condo project and really care less about God and the bible. They are friends with tom, the guy who caused all the problems in our project, suing my partner and initiated the death threat to me and my family. I have posted about this story many times, so to give a few highlights and move on because the story is not about what he did, what he did is because of who he is, and who he is is because of the decisions he has made. Decisions to honor his flesh, his greed, his ego. And from what I witnessed in knowing him over 5 years now, this cycle happens to him over and over.
So this couple is upset with my partner for saying in court he did not get the money from tom, and tom has no proof he gave the money to my partner. So case over, although we are waiting for the final verdict from the judge. As a side note, another shot into the foot of tom, because at the final hearing and final arguments, tom’s lawyer was an hour late and the judge would not hear their side. The case against tom was already heavily favoring our side, so not sure this one even matters, but it certainly cannot hurt.
Two points. First, as said many times. I have watched the Lord in this case do things which completely have destroyed tom and his attack on us. From the beginning Yeshua told me three verses. First “vengeance is mine says the Lord, I will repay.” Second, “you reap what you sow.” Third “whatever you do to the least of my brother, that you do onto me.” His fight was with God and not me or my partner.
Now if I was a bible reading faith type guy, I would look at the verse about if a man sues you, settle it, and if he wants you to walk a mile, walk two… But instead of my faith being in what bible verses I pick out, I seek the truth in Yeshua and simply do as he says. And in this case I have watched God do certain things which screwed tom, including keeping my wife and I from testifying. Because my testimony would have helped tom on proof of funds. Yeshua knows I would not lie, but by keeping me from testifying, I did not have to lie, I don’t have to say a word, nor could I if I wanted to the way the court system works down here.
Hopefully you see the point? We are to seek the words from Yeshua, and then obey him and watch him make things happen. He is the one who will bring bible verses and other teachings to your memory, just as he said in John 16 about the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will remind us of things the Lord taught and clarify it in our minds. Things we cannot understand or learn in the flesh. It is remarkable to me how true this is. How something can be so clear to us after we receive the Spirit and we look back and cannot even understand how we did not get it before. And also how other people are still blind and cannot see it? Cannot see the truth.
So back to this couple, they are upset with my partner for how he testified. And think he is the wrong one and poor tom who is suffering so much, so depressed. They ignore the 20 things tom did, many of which are way over the top, things 99.9% of the people would never do. And they forgive him in their minds and have this issue with my partner because he did not say what they think he should have said.
When we look at these two examples, it tells how our world is, how corrupt and how we actually turn against God and his truth and righteousness in favor of the “poor little old me) attitude which sucks people in to feel sorry for other people. In their minds they do not see it as a result of poor decisions giving the bad outcome. They see it as something they suffer from. The world has us believing it is not their fault they have these mental health issues, and the world does nothing to help that person make the right changes to overcome those poor choices. Instead they medicate and or give counseling, normally feeding the dysfunction. And worse, those of us who live in the truth and see the rabbit hole these people went down for what it is, and point it out, we are the wrong ones. We are egotistical, or judgmental, non christian (which is true in my case, I have nothing to do with christianity. I follow Yeshua, the true son of God.)
This is the point of the teaching today, like many days. Know Yeshua and obey what he says, then everything else takes care of itself. If you make your own decisions it keeps you in the dark (at different levels) and sin prevails. And the people like the darkness (sin) more than the light so they remain in the dark. But those of us who do their works or deeds in the light, show their deeds, and the people hate them. And this is your judgment or condemnation. Nothing else, nothing more or nothing less.
