Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Yashua; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things 1 Peter 1:13-18
I read this verse, and this next one from 1 John 5:18-20 “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Yashua the Messiah. This is the true God and eternal life.
There were a few other verses the Lord showed me, but the main point is obvious it seems. That is we are to be Holy as he is Holy. And that those who preach a different gospel of not being able to be perfect or Holy are of the devil. Seems pretty cut and dry, but in real life it is confusing because the men of satan who pretend to be men of God and teach out of the bible seem right to most. But then most do not know Yashua and his revelations.
Now keep in mind a revelation is not necessarily some sort of future prophecy, it can and most of the time is a simple message to you directly. Him teaching you, and in the context of this verse it is him teaching you and you o0beying what he is showing you, and then the true grace of God is given which is a forgiveness of your sins and who you were in the flesh.
Nothing is more difficult then seeing yourself according to how God sees you, no matter how good of a person you think you are in the flesh. But this is the problem and why the condemnation, the men do not like to see themselves as God sees them so when the revelation comes which brings grace to those who listen, they ignore it and pass it off as something of satan and not of God. And then when they keep sinning they through out a verse like 1 John 1:8 “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” But this is taken out of context because it is speaking of a man who is or was in the flesh. We all are born into sin and do sin. But once the Spirit convicts us of the things we are doing wrong, and shows us the way out so we do not do them things anymore. Then the verse 7 y 9 make more sense, because they contradict verse 8 completely if you believe you will always sin.
“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” You cannot be cleansed of all sin and unrighteousness and then continue in sin and unrighteousness. It is not possible, nor is it possible to sin if you are in God. When we read things in the light of God it becomes very clear the judgment and the “way” out of sin. And it is simple, hear and obey the Lord, work out what he is working in you.
This working out can be extremely tough, right now I know a few people going through very tough situations. And both remind me of when I went through the valley of the shadow of death on my “Way” to find the Kingdom. We are lead to believe a simple alter call or sinners prayer saves us, and then try to be a good Christian according to what you read in the bible. To imitate Jesus Christ.
This is what keeps you in sin, following false doctrine which tells you that you have no hope, but do your best and try. Your defeated before you even start partially because of this lie and you believing it. But more so because if you believe this lie, it is of satan so your following the god of this world who will always lie to you to keep you from knowing the Spirit. Because if you come to know the Spirit you will know it is not only possible to defeat sin and unrighteousness, but the opposite, it is not possible to walk in the Spirit and still sin and do works of unrighteousness. In the end we are judged by our works, which now are works because of grace.
One last point from 2 John, “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Yashua does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Yashua has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
This is a tough one, because I know very few who truly know and hear Yashua and obey him. I know many who claim to follow the son of God, but don’t. They follow their doctrine which tells a story of who they think the son is and call him by the wrong name. Very different. Plus we are to bring other sons to glory, to disciples the nations, how can we do this if we do not greet other men? It is impossible to disciple the nations if you do not talk with other men and tell them the truth. Now if they do not receive it, then it is a different story.
In the end it goes back to your personal relationship with Yashua, you must hear him and let him tell you what you are to do or not do. Who to let in your home and who not to have anything to do with. Then burn your bridges where you are to burn them. Do not look back.
