Riches of wisdom

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!  Romans 11:33

This morning the Lord was showing me more about money and wealth.  And how God is a big part of this.  If you are seeking God to get wealth, it does not work.  You must seek him for himself.  The first 45 or so of my years were in the poor house, most of those years because of my own stupidity, and that of an ex-wife, which even that was my own fault for marrying her in the first place.

God reminded me again two things, first about how when I came here to Baja, I was under the impression it would be as a missionary and I would always be poor, and I accepted that from God.  Many times he must take it all away from you before he can give it back 100 times more.

The second point he made was using Jacob and Laban, and how a couple of things of this story.  The first how God gave Jacob the wisdom to know how to breed the lambs so that he prospered and not so much Laban.  But also that God did not just give Jacob everything.  He spent 7 years working for Laban to get Rachael but Laban tricked him and gave him Leah instead, so he worked another 7 years for Rachael.  And then another 7 years for the wealth in the flock.  All the time Jacob was obedient to God and suffered accordingly.

These days most of us would have walked away from such craziness, thinking God really does not care about me.  Of course most people never come to know him so they do not know who he is or how he is and what he expects.  I know God and who he is and what he expects not because of a religion or reading the bible stories, but because of living them while hearing and obeying God.

I get Jacob because I have lived his life mostly (except the part of multiple wives at the same time, all with multiple kids).  I have lived it in the sense of doing Gods will and not knowing why, and it takes years for his wisdom to be imparted into you and you do not even know he is doing it.  And then everything starts to change and it seems out of nowhere you go from being in debt to debt free to having some wealth, even to the point of being financially set where you do not have to work.

In one way you can look at it as taking 60 years to get here.  Or you can look and say I have been in Mexico 20 years so that is what it took.  Or you can look at it and say the wealth was made in about 10 years because that is when I started to sell real estate and really accumulate wealth and assets.

For me, it is a combination of all the above.  What I learned from my stupidity of making very good money for years and living above my means, spending more than I made and always being broke.  In those days I did not have the wisdom and knowledge of God, but also I can look back on those days and see the difference in me and what God did in me to change me.  And how he imparted his wisdom into me little by little without me even really knowing it.

My success financially speaking is all because of God for two reasons.  The first is this wisdom and understanding of how things are.  An in-depth understanding which allows you to see things other people do not see, and helps you to make good decisions others are not making.  This is not only on your wealth but also health and relationships.  You learn how to deal with people in the right way, and learn quickly to NOT deal with people who are not doing things the right way.  The hard part is watching other people pushing unrighteousness as righteous and seeing the bad outcome from it in their lives, and your own if you give into them.  The normal person these days is extremely selfish and demands their own ways as if you owe other people certain things because of your relationship.

We must pass this in our life, and realize no one owes us nothing.  If we cannot do it ourselves and demand to get others help us in certain ways, it keeps us in the wrong.  It does not mean that we should all do everything only for us, because we all have different abilities and should work together.  But the point is simply we should never expect anything from another person, nor from God.  So back to the first comments, when moving here I expected nothing from God financially, except that he would feed me because Yashua said he would and to not worry about it.  We must get to where we only seek to do his will and let the rest happen.

When you get to this point in life, then many things start to happen.  There is no pressure on you to make money to pay bills.  People feel pressure and if you are tense they will feel it.  Which brings up the next point which is the peace God will fill you up with.  People feel this peace in you and will want to do business with you because they trust you.  They see it is not about money or fame or success with you, it is a genuine attitude about helping the person get what is best for them or what they want, and you let the rest of it take care of itself.

The interesting thing is the deeper you go into this attitude, the more grateful you become for everything when you get it.  And the easier it comes to you, because again people want to do business with you and are willing to refer their friends to you even without you asking for referrals.

It is deeper than this, but hopefully you get the main point, that it is about the riches both of wisdom and knowledge.  All the other things come from this righteous relationship and understanding of God and who he is and what he expects.  And sometimes he even gives an upper advantage and makes all your lambs white without spots or stripes.  And leaves the competition in the dust.

One other thing, he also does the opposite, as I have seen my sales drop to zero.  Everyone’s business is down significantly but zero is substantial.  It is his way of telling me it is enough, and he has done this more than once before where I had to start over.  My Real Estate business was a start over when I really had no intention of doing something else.  I have had 5 times or more in my life where my career ended, and not necessarily on my terms but on Gods.  I knew this one was coming, but the beautiful thing about this time is I learned my lessons and obeyed the Lord and we invested well, so now I do not have to work, we have more than enough earnings off our investments to pay the bills which we owe no one any money either as we are debt free.

All of this is in obedience to the Lord and then letting him do the rest.  Which brings us to the last story, our home we are building in Guerro.  It was a ongoing search for the right property for a little ranchito.  Many years ago, around 20 or so, God put it on my mind, and I did look all these years.  And finally he confirmed it to me when we saw this land.  Many times I talk about the fake economy which we have been successful in, but how we do not need it.  All we really need is air, water and food.  This place has an unlimited supply and is why he led us there.  The point is he gives you a vision (to buy a ranch for bad days ahead).  And then he takes his time to bring it to life or make it happen.  We must do our part and keep up the search and eyes open looking for the opportunity.  And if we don’t or we give up because it does not happen in a few days (and instead in 20 years).  We miss out and then when it all dries up and we have no water or food and we cry out, the Lord is not found, why?  Because we do not pay attention to the visions he gives us and do not do our part and follow through.  Many are lazy, but some move ahead and do their own ranchito and it does not work out because it was not of God and his timing.

The Lord provides, but not always food directly but the opportunity for you to be ready in and out of season.  And when the opportunity comes you are ready for it and jump on it, not conferring with flesh and blood, because they will always talk you out of it, telling you it is foolishness.  My family and friends tried to talk me out of moving to Baja, it was foolishness to them.  But I now look back on it and can not imagine where I would be if I disobeyed the Lord and stayed in Iowa.  I know we will feel the same about Guerro in the future, and we see how we have and others do not because we obeyed and spent the money he provided on what he expected us to invest it in.

In the end it always goes back to do you hear and obey God?  Or not?
