The Lord looks at the Heart!

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”  1 Samuel 16:7

This is where we get confused in our doctrine.  We look at the human heart in a much different way than God does.  Over and over I hear people telling how such and such a person has a good heart, and 99% of the time it is because they do things for other people “out of the goodness of their heart.”  They do this on their own terms, own idea of what they believe God wants.  But in the end they are getting in the way of God and hurting the chances of other people coming to know God.

Two points come to mind from my past.  The first one was one day in a church we went to sometimes called Agape.  Which if you know agape is the highest level of love with God.  The church reminded me of the one my wife goes to here in Rosarito, they were very touchy feely smiles all the time type of love.  Genuine not fake, because at times I have seen fake teachers pretend to have this fake love.

One day a lady gave a testimony of how another lady in the church had helped her with some difficult times.  She went on and on about how good of a person this lady is to help her.  Never any word of God at all, just about this lady.  What we do not understand is when we do what God is supposed to be the one doing in the life of the other person hurting or going through pain and suffering.  We make that other person not see God.  They see the church system, and the person helping them and associate it with being of God, but it is not.  You are the thief that sneaks through the side window and not the shepherd who comes through the front door and calls his sheep by name.  The whore church system is full of this today, and why it is the whore.  No where does it lead people to Yeshua, it leads them to dependency on the church system and then makes it like that is God and what he wants.

God does not need a church system, nor do you.  YOu need to know Yeshua.  In knowing him and then hanging out with other people who know him.  Then you are a part of the true church.  The true church is NOT a building or place, but it is a Kingdom that wells up inside you, when you know and obey the Lord.

The second person is an older man who by now is probably dead.  So many people looked to him because he always had a kind word, and quick to help even financially when someone was suffering.  And many people said they want to be like him because in their mind he was a perfect example of God.

But the funny thing is he did not know God.  He read his bible, went to the whore church system.  But his comments to me one day was “I try to do what I think Jesus wants me to do.” The problem is human nature can never do what the Spirit will show us to do, it is not possible.  We can only do what Yeshua wants us to do by hearing and obeying him and his Spirit.  And this man by his own mouth testified he did not know him like that.

But this is the kicker or bigger problem.  When we do things based on what we think God wants us to do we stop people from suffering.  And then growing.  And the other men seeing him and then duplicating him thinking it is of God and it is not, they also fall short and the trend continues.

As an example, this man helped financially one of his nieces, many times over.  She never worked and traveled a lot.  One time, and this is how I know.  She was in San Diego on a trip, and was telling my girlfriend at the time about how he helped.  But is it helping or enabling this woman to remain undisciplined in life?

It is one thing to see a man starving to death and we need to help feed them, and another to give them when they have the means to support themselves, and then they go on vacations and other things.

A third example of this, and one of the reasons I am not with this ex-girlfriend anymore.  And the old saying monkey see monkey do.  I helped her oldest daughter get into business for herself.  I was covering some of her expenses to get going, and she was working hard to make it happen.  Then I noticed she had enough money to start buying a lot of stuff for her daughter, and went on a trip to Miami.  So I made the point and stopped funding her expenses.  My ex was very upset, because that was not love in her eyes.  Like I was supposed to continue to support her daughter forever?

I have many similar stories learned over the years.  And human nature would side with the worldly view of helping these people and not worrying about the fruit they are bearing.  But with God there are a few things to understand.  First is he expects the highest level of discipline in all areas of your life.  And little by little he shows this to you so you can make the changes in your life to accomplish them.  God also is an enabler, he will use his power to help you.  But his way of enabling is much different than ours.  His way builds a person up, man’s way keeps the person weak.  Man’s way is satan’s way, satan always wants us weak and separated from God.

Also keep in mind Yeshua said our provider is the Father.  He will provide for you.  He may do it through another person.  But when a person takes matters into his own hands he is getting in the way of the Provider, Father God.  When you give it comes back to you.  But if God instructs you to give to someone, then when you give the gift you make sure they know it is from God, that he told you to give that to the other person.  These are two very different scenarios.

So the last thing God was really stressing today which plays into all this, which is the saying “you will know them by their fruit…  A good tree bears good fruit and a bad tree bad fruit…”  Obviously what Yeshua is speaking of is your results of your works.  But what we seem to not understand is that the results are based on what you did to achieve them.  The world makes it that it is just the way it is and you cannot do anything to change it.  And because most people are lazy they believe the lie because it allows them to live how they want.  For example, one of the biggest lies is that it is genetic.  You are fat or diabetic because of genes.  When actually it is because of monkey see, monkey do.  Your family eats trash and you learned to eat the same trash.  The food you eat is causing your health problems, not genes.  Me and my family are perfect examples, we eat extremely healthy.  Many think and see us as crazy and or obsessed.  And maybe we are, but the fruit we bear shows this truth.  All my family, my parents and brother and sister have health problems, including weight problems.  But me, nothing.  I had weight and health problems back when I ate like them at about 35 years old.  But changed everything with the food I was eating and it all went away.

My dad now lives in Mexico with us, and a similar situation although not 100% because of his stroke.  But when he came he was way overweight, now around 180 Lbs.  His diabetes went away, no more meds for blood pressure, no more lung problems, and a few other things.  His mind has improved also, although still some crazy comments from time to time.  The meds he is still on are mostly for comfort and pain as sitting in a wheel chair most of the day hurts.  Although he is also walking a lot more now, about 10 times more than before so he needs the meds less and less.

I could have left my dad on the diet he was on, and he had to just accept it.  I stopped buying his mints, his gatorade, his sweets or desserts…  I stopped giving him any shots or vaccines, and as said, got rid of some meds.  Now if you still think I am crazy how do you say it is genes that cause the health problems when my dad stopped many of the health problems when we changed his diet?  He still has the same genes!

Final point: to tie this all together, we must pay attention to the input, making sure it comes from God.  If we do what he expects, which will go almost 100% against what you learned from the world.  The fruit will be good.  If on the other hand you take matters into your own hands and do what you want to do, or what you “think” God wants you to do, but it is not what he wants and never can be.  Then the fruit will not be good.  And it can get really bad, as a last example, the girlfriend I spoke about.  Her other daughter was dating a guy who hung himself.  Instead of doing things to bring discipline into the lives of the daughter and this boyfriend, she was helping support their lifestyle which included smoking dope.  He got high one night and hung himself.  In the mind of the ex girlfriend, she blamed God for it, even saying f__cken God.

This is an extreme example of how wrong things can go when we do things our own way thinking they are of God, when they are not and then seeing really bad fruit being beared.  And then like many we blame God or call him something.

Sorry one last point, some of the people in our complex I built call me cheap, when I actually have given them an amazing opportunity.  Only because they expect things up and above what is agreed upon.  And I have given them things up and above what was promised.  But God made the point, this is what people do to him all the time.  They expect a certain way or outcome when they do not do the right things in the first place.  And he actually does not even listen to them when they demand things like this.  And then when it does not happen according to how they think it should they blame him and even curse him.  Take his Holy name in vain and in real anger.

When you are truly born again into the Spirit you see it like God does and not like the world sees it.  And then you do things as God does them because you and your Lord are one.  You hear him and obey him, knowing this is the only way to bear good fruit.  And as the verse above says, it is not about your stature, it is about your heart.  But is your heart right with God or siding with the world view of how they think God should be and not who he is?The Lord looks at the heart
