The things of God.

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  1 Corinthians 2:14

Two different things the Lord is showing me, kind of on going.  First a quick story that happened yesterday to me when I ran to the store.  I was backing up and all of the sudden this older man popped up.  I immediately stopped, he walked around the side of my van and hit the side and said something about paying attention.  So I said, sorry, I did not see you.  Then he went off and started saying are you stupid or something?  And then walking away he kept at it, using extremely vulgar language.

Now I had a couple of choices to make at this point.  But the choice was to simply laugh at him, because to me he sounded exactly to what he was saying to me.  I am looking at this old man, maybe 100 pounds when wet, and he is yelling and screaming at me because he walked behind my van when backing up and he did not like it.  Nothing happened to him, no injury.  But here he is mouthing off to a guy twice his size and who is athletic and works out.  He had to know I could beat him up with ease, yet he is calling me stupid?  That is why I laughed, it was to funny, him calling me stupid when it is him who was being stupid.

When growing up we had those types which we said they had the little man’s disease.  I still do not understand people like that?  And he is lucky it was me he was mouthing off to and not someone who would have beat him.

But the main story here is it is a test to me, although a really small one.  As to how you react when someone does that to you.  But more so a showing as to what Yeshua said, “the things that proceed from your mouth tells a person what is inside them.”  And “you will be judged by the things that proceed from your mouth.”  And “how you judge you will be judged.”  He judged me as stupid amongst other things, need I say more?

But the bigger thing is regarding the verse.  If people really understood what they are doing to themselves in the Spiritual world, and how it affects their salvation.  They would act completely differently.  But then they cannot understand the things of God, but why?

Because they do not seek him.  The flesh wants comfort, the easy way out, entertainment…  None of these things are of God.  God actually does the opposite, he expects you to take the difficult path, because narrow it is and difficult it is and few find it.  God expects discipline, if you knew him like I do, and listen to him and then obey, you would know he expects the highest level of discipline and in exchange he gives you the highest and best life you could ever imagine.  But he does not accept anything lower than this.

Most believe in their doctrine that God is some sort of teddy bear up there, a sugar daddy of sorts.  Giving and giving and ignoring any faults you have.  They take scripture out of context to come up with this sort of doctrine.  Or the opposite, as I have seen some men say you need to sell all you have and give it to the poor or you cannot be saved.  As if God wants you poor and miserable, like a slave.

How can men get such different doctrine from the same book?  Simple, because they do not have the Spirit of truth.

The Spirit of truth may take you through a time where you have nothing, he did me.  And he taught me at that time how he is my provider.  Many times I did not have the money or income coming in to pay my bills, yet somehow they always got paid.

I truly believe that if the rich young ruler had sold it all and followed Yeshua, that he would have been made wealthier later.  The point of Yeshua is not to all be poor and miserable, but to not seek wealth but instead seek him.  Because as he said, if you seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, then you get everything else.

If Yeshua took away all my wealth again, no problem.  My life is in him, my peace in him.  I know I do not need much of anything to live.  And I see some people living on little to nothing here in Mexico, and they see the same ocean I see, and eat and sleep the same as me.  Just not as nice of a home if they have one.  And not the same money in the bank.

So the question becomes what is the money for?  Because the things most important to me is my time with the Lord, watching the morning being made, the day come to a close with the sunset.  Spending time alone with my wife, my kids.  We would much rather cook and eat in our home than go out.  So what does a person really need money for?

This is the thing the Lord wants, your focus on the important things in life, not on your success and finances.  To seek him and his kingdom and his righteousness above all else.  And keep the focus on that.  We must know him and hear him and obey him in order to know what he wants, otherwise we just come up with our own version of religion.  Never coming to know him, which is essential in your salvation.  You will not and cannot be saved without hearing and obeying him.  This is the key, yet no one is hearing and obeying him.  They instead have found their belief system to follow which keeps them comfortable in their sin, making it that they are saved when they are not.  And the problem is we do not find out we are wrong until we die, and no one comes back to warn us that we are wrong.  There is no communication between the two like that.  There is communication from God to you and satan to you if you listen and figure out which voice is which.  Every thought originates with one of the two, our part is to capture every thought and only focus on the ones of God.  Because God leads us to righteousness and salvation, where satan leads us astray and feeds us full of lies, as many lies as he knows he can make us believe.

The lies of satan grow on each other, if you know the truth on a certain point, he cannot lie to you on a deeper aspect of that lie.  But once he gets you believing a certain lie, he then takes you to the next level and keeps going as long as he can.  This is why there are so many different ideas out there, and why today it seems the thoughts of many people are SOOOOO ridiculous and crazy.  When Charlie Kirk talked, this is what he was doing, going into colleges and showing the young people just how crazy their beliefs are, hoping to break some bonds satan has on them.  The problem with Charlie is he then did not lead them to be disciples of Yeshua.  He didn’t lead anyone anywhere, nor does anyone else who preaches these days.  They tell of what is a better way to think, but do not give the way to the Lord so he can perfect them.

This is and always has been the problem, men wanting another way to heaven than knowing and obeying the truth which is Yeshua.  In this way, everything else becomes important and they seek wealth, success, to satisfy desires like sex, or getting drunk and high.  Many people give themselves up sexually or mentally just to feel accepted or loved, when that is not even love.  And all of it is OK in the religious community, they may speak to it as being wrong, but then turn their back on it in practice to grow their church.  Thinking the bigger my church the more people I saved.

Well preachers, the bad news is you do not save anyone, only Yeshua can.  Our job as followers is to simply lead people to Yeshua.  And let them know he is the one who will do the rest.  We are to make disciples of the nations to him, not our own religious beliefs.  The religious community is failing significantly.  And the more we turn our back on the sin and dysfunction, the more men will over react in bad ways.  And someday pay the price.  Because like this man who cussed at me yesterday, when he does that to the wrong man, the outcome will be very different.  That man will pay the price someday, maybe in this lifetime, but for sure in the next if he does not repent of his ways and come to follow Yeshua.  And if he does repent, then he will still pay a price, we all do for our disobedience, ignorance and stupidity.
