Because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.” 1 Peter 1:24-25
When you stop living for today or this lifetime, and start focusing on the reality that our life is short, and getting shorter faster and faster daily. And you change the focus to the after life and making sure you are right with God. Then you start to live, and you know what life is really about.
The second thing the Lord made the point of in this verse, which is almost daily. Second thing is what is the word? Because as mentioned many times we make the word the bible or the gospel. But if that is what the early church leaders were saying, the disciples of Yeshua. Then why would he say the word of the Lord endures forever? The bible will not endure forever. And also why would he say Now this is the word which the gospel was preached to you? If the bible was the word, then it would say it clearly. But it never does, because it is not the word.
Later Peter writes “if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” The disciples always made it about the Lord, never about books, because once again the point comes up if the bible was the word, then how did trillions of men over all the 6,000 years before a bible hear God? ANd how would Peter have taught this when they did not have a bible? They did not even have copies of the old testament. They relied on what Yeshua taught them, and what the Holy Spirit revealed to them. Now today we do the opposite, we rely on the bible and ignore the Lord Yeshua and the Holy Spirit and in many cases we even teach the Holy Spirit is satan, when he comes in and convicts us of wrong doing.
The longer I live, the more crazy the people and their views are. They have completely become the opposite of the truth in almost all aspects of life. And so many people are buying this lie, it makes life easier, and the men want an easier life. One where God or other men take care of them.
The other day I saw a guy ranting on youtube because he did not want to work and relied on the government, who is now shut down, and it is affecting him. He said clearly he expects us who do work to pay our taxes so he can stay home and feed his kids. Now I doubt he even cares there is a God, but this is as far away from how and what God expects as it can get. Yet satan continues to work in the world making it the norm and the rest of us who do not want to pay taxes so this guy can stay home and not work and feed his kids. I have no problem with charity and helping, but I want my money in my pocket so I can help the ones who really deserve the help, not lazy men like this guy.
We seem to forget what Yeshua said about the man given the 1 talent and what he did to him. His 1 talent was taken away and given to him who had the 8, and then he tied him up hand and foot and threw him into the fire, calling him a lazy and worthless servant. So if this is the truth of God, then why are we doing the opposite by taking the talents from the working ones who are building things up, and give it to the lazy worthless ones so they can keep having kids and training them to be worse than they were?
The system we are in today is not of God, it is the opposite. And the more we push this agenda, the more God hates it and will eventually come to end it all. Something will end it, either Yeshua, or maybe the people who believe like me will rise up and end it? Hard to say how it ends, but it will end eventually, and the righteousness of the Lord will prevail.
