Tossed to and fro…

Tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men.  Ephesians 4:14

This verse I tell my wife often, because it is her.  One minute she is good and following the Lord, the next she gets tossed aside and is the opposite.  Like a roller coaster up and down.  Many times I wonder why?  Why does the Lord allow this?  And what is the purpose?

What I do know is his will is very different from ours, and he puts us in tough places to grow us.  But it also grows the other person.  He uses each person to help the other.  It is tough to go through at times.  There are many times I just want to run away from life and go hide on a deserted beach somewhere and live the rest of my life out alone without these crazy problems.  But then I also know I would be extremely bored.

The thing is we need to keep our focus on the Lord, letting him show us and teach us what we need to learn so we are right with him in all ways and profit for him.  Because if you focus on the state of men it will drive you crazy and you will give up.

The thing about the light coming into you and showing you your darkness is the key.  He has shown me mine, and he shows me it in other people, how men destroy their lives and end up in hell instead of heaven because they do not like the light showing them their darkness or problems they create.  God does not allow people who choose the darkness over the light because they will bring darkness into the Kingdom of God.  If they did not want to see the truth and light while on earth, they will not want to see it in the after life either, however the Lord will show it to them anyways and then the real fear starts with them.  Because they will see the judgment and know why they are in hell.

I see the dysfunction, the sin, the darkness in me from who I was apart from Yeshua and who I am in him.  I seek him every day and nothing else, he is the one who shows me truth and grows me, and the good is I know it is good for me and anyone around me because it is righteous.  However I also see it in a way where it condemns others.  Because they choose darkness instead of truth and light.  The more days I live the more I see the dysfunction in other people, many of whom think they are right with God and good for heaven, but are not.

I had another one of those talks with a guy ongoing on youtube about holiness and not sinning, he is a true believer in the once saved always saved grace doctrine.  I still do not get it when I talk with them, how they cannot see the truth, he makes his points about grace and religion which do not even make his point because when I read those verses I get a different thought.  That is what Yeshua does, he changes your thoughts into his thoughts and not the way men have taught you before.  It is so easy to twist words written to mean something completely different.  Which, I made the point to him that his doctrine is from Billy Sunday from the 1,800’s and it is a new doctrine not of Yeshua or Paul.  So far he has no answer back, many stop talking when they have no answer to come back with.  I am not sure if that is because they are seriously thinking through their doctrinal beliefs or if it is something else?  My hope is it is because they cannot come up with a real answer for what I said and it gets them to think and seek the Lord and his truth.  Because anytime I speak it always is about knowing and obeying the Lord Yeshua.  In the end we are to make people disciples of Yeshua, not of a religious belief system.  Only Yeshua can save you and wash you clean in his blood, no one else can.

The point is we stay in this dysfunction because we choose to.  We do not like the light showing us how and where we are wrong and how to do it better.  We prefer to ignore it and stay in the dysfunction of life and be thrown to and fro like the waves of the ocean.  It is exciting to be thrown back and forth, we like the drama.

As I sti up on my hill looking down on the ocean, there are days when the ocean is ver rough like now, and the waves crash hard and the vision to the bottom of the sea is blurred.  And their are days when the ocean is calm, the waves barely move and you can see clearly down to the bottom of the ocean floor, seeing dolphins swim by under the water.

Do you get the point?  When you keep yourself simple and calm you see clearly, but when you allow the waves of life to come in and throw you around it is exciting and gives you thrills, but it accomplishes nothing because it creates drama and dysfunction.

With this debate with the guy and all of them actually.  In the end they make it about sin, attaching me that I still sin, so it makes them feel better.  But I defuse it by saying it is not about sin.  The sin is a fruit you bear because you are not right with God.  When you are right with God you cannot sin because the seed of God is with you.  We focus to much on sin, when the focus needs to be on Yeshua and letting his light shine in us and showing us the deep truth inside us as to why we have the problems we have which lead to the sin.  When he can show these to us and we accept them and then change them.  Then the sin stops and righteousness starts.  There is no other way, except through the son, and letting the light into you.

Which do you choose?  Darkness and dysfunction and excitement?  Or to let the Lord show you the darkness and dysfunction and how to live a better life without it?
