And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
John 1:14 y 6:63
Until we come to the understanding and accept that most all of what we have learned in our religious belief system is wrong. And we stop making the bible or whatever other thing we make our word, and instead make the Word our word. The word being the son of the Father, Yeshua. Until that moment we will remain under the power and control of the evil one.
Because of an ongoing discussion or debate with a man who argued with me about the bible being the word and we cannot have a righteous relationship without the bible. And then meditating on what the Lord is showing me, because he always shows me or teaches me things after any sort of disagreement I have with religious people. The main message the Lord is making to me is simple. Which is when I stopped reading my bible daily and started spending that time with the Lord, meditating on his “word” he told me. Then the things written in the bible started to make more sense. In other words, when I made the Lord my word instead of the bible, then the wisdom or light of the Lord shined much brighter in me.
Now many will argue it is not possible, but let me tell you why it is not only in my life but will be in yours if you do the same.
The first thing is the Lord teaches me using things I read in the bible over and over and over. The other night when with the guys speaking, right before we departed. I rambled off about 10 bible verses in a row, nothing but them. And they made a point to what I was telling them. It was not me just coming up with them and remembering and quoting them of my own knowledge. It was the Spirit speaking through me and confirming what I said is true. This happens all the time with me since letting the “word” be my teacher instead of the bible and other men.
So the interesting thing about doing it this way is I come to know and understand much more about the truth in the “word” the other so-called christians believe in, the bible, than they know. The other interesting thing was the other night when the guy was debating with me about the importance of the bible and it being the “word” was that as he quoted bible verses to me to try to support it as being the “word.” I was hearing the strong message from God as to it supporting him being the word.
So here is the point, which we will understand if we ever read the bible about the temptation of Yeshua by satan in the desert with 40 days of fasting. satan quoted scripture to Yeshua trying to confuse him or get him to do his will, pretending it was the will of the Father. But Yeshua was too full of wisdom to fall for it. But the question is are you?
The short answer is no you are not full of the wisdom of God trying to read the bible in the flesh, while listening to other men teachers tell you what it means. The bible is the most misquoted thing there is. We have 56 or more versions of the bible, all telling a little different story. On top of it, just like the story above, when the man was quoting me verses, in his mind it justified his position of the bible being the “word.” But when he quoted them in my mind, because the true “word” in Yeshua has taught me. I saw these same verses telling me and in a strong way, he is the “word.”
As an example, one I often use is about grace. The fleshly version of the verse by Paul explains that we are saved not by doing good works, but by grace. So your works are of little importance. At the same time they tell you to try and be a good man and go to church and serve the church and give money to the church, which are all works but in their mine they are not works. But one day I asked the “word” about this verse, because I also had the same belief about it because I heard it preached like that over and over. But at the same time the Lord was showing me clearly about hearing him and obeying him and he will make me righteous. He told me and explained the verse in detail.
Exactly what Paul was writing is if you do your own works, no matter how good you think they are, they are not pleasing to God. A man in the flesh will never be pleasing to God. But if you act in real “faith” which is simply put, hearing and obeying God. In your obedience your works or fruit you bear will be good because he is the one instructing you how to do it, and not of your own works anymore. This is where the last part of the verse comes in, so we do the good works we were created to do.
So when looking at this verse, the way the man teachers twist it, it makes the student believe they really cannot do anything to earn salvation. But the truth is we must do the good works God shows us to do in order to earn our salvation. We must earn it, it is a lie to believe you do not have to do anything, that this man Jesus did it all on the cross.
Yeshua did not do it all on the cross, that is not faith like they teach. Yeshua did his part on the cross and opened the door for you to allow the helper, the Holy Spirit into your life. But you must do your part to work out what he is working in. So back to the bible as your god or “word.” The bible will not give you instruction on anything to work out. Trying to obey the commandments written in it is not good works, it is a sign of you doing your own works trying to be pleasing to God. What God expects is you to hear him and obey what he tells you to do, and then the works you will do will be good works worthy of salvation.
So again we must put down our bibles and spend that time alone in meditation with Yeshua seeking his truth which then sets you free from sin. Using the grace example again, anyone believing the lie about grace covering all your sins, past and future and you cannot do anything, it keeps you in sin because there is no discipline or reason to change. But if you come to know Yeshua and his ways, you will know you must hear and obey him. When he speaks, he speaks with authority, so if you are listening you know you must obey. Not out of drudgery or like a slave, but out of love for doing what is righteous and good. And out of this comes rivers flowing with living water. Many blessings. Man’s ways are always selfish in nature. Always with the idea of what’s in it for me. God’s ways are about what is in it for the good of everyone, which then includes you. Because righteousness is righteousness. It rains on the good and bad. If you do the right things, then you will reap what you sow and have good things added to you. Some of those things are spiritual in nature, but some are physical in nature. Like wealth, health both mental and physical. You can have it all if you “seek first the Kingdom of God and its RIGHTEOUSNESS, and then everything else is given to you.”
One last point, unless a grain falls to the ground and dies, it cannot spring up and produce good fruit. Some 30, some 60 some 100 fold. This is paraphrasing a few verse like John 12:24 But the point is we must die, which in a spiritual sense is we must stop thinking for ourselves and let the Lord lead us or make our decisions for us. Yeshua said “I only do what the Father tells me to do.” So we must also only do what the Son tells us to do. This is dying onto ourselves, nothign more and nothing less. But how do we die?
The Lord this morning reminded me of my grandparents dying. One grandpa and grandma both died of cancer over many years. One grandma fairly quickly after tripping and falling and breaking a hip, then dying from the surgery. And a grandpa who died from a heart attack while dancing. You get to choose your death Spiritually. Will it be a slow death because you hang onto your religious or person views and lifestyle? Or a quick death because you had enough of yourself and your ways which lead you to your calamity (see Proverbs chapter 1).
