But, as the Tanakh says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no one’s heart has imagined all the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9
Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me, and the one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforting Counselor like me, the Spirit of Truth, to be with you forever. The world cannot receive him, because it neither sees nor knows him. You know him, because he is staying with you and will be united with you.John 14:21 y 16-18
Do you really love God? Or do you love your idea of a god you created in your mind based on what you read and what people tell you. Picking and choosing verses to make your god real in your mind?
God has made it very clear to me you cannot say you love him unless you love his ways and obey them. You do not have to like them as much as to just do them. However once you obey you find you will not only like them, but love them. It is not easy, it will require a HUGE change in how you live, but that change is worth it.
Yesterday, my wife and I were talking pretty deep on a few different subjects, one was about divorce. I do not remember how it came up exactly, but she said something that caused meto tell her about a short dream I had were we were sitting around, and out of the blue she says “I want a divorce.” To which I replied “OK.” That was the dream, nothing more or less. So I told her about the dream, and she said, “I do want a divorce. But at the same time I don’t. I want us together for the kids sake. She really did not say much past that at the moment.
However as the day went on we spoke of some additional things, and the just of it was how I changed and basically how boring it is for her in how I changed. And I made the point it is not me who made the changes, but the Spirit of God in me. It is the Spirit who told me to stop watching TV, especially sports. And we talked of how I used to go watch the games at the local bar with other sports guys. And then I asked her “when was the last time I went to a bar?” It has been years. There were other examples also, but to sum them up, the point made is although it is boring at times, and she likes excitement. There is no drama or sin in the boring things of God. If you keep his commands, that is what he personally tells you to do.
Yeshua said in Matthew 10:34 “Don’t suppose that I have come to bring peace to the Land. It is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword! And I see exactly what he means. When one person obeys the commands the Lord tells you, and the other ones in your family do not or have not received the same commands (because for example the Lord would never tell my wife to not watch sports, because she really never watches them).
There are things she does that I know the Lord has told her to stop and she ignored the voice of God, or will tell her to stop at some point in the future. But at this time she has not stopped them. They are not sinful necessarily but they keep you in the flesh which a man in the flesh will sin and will NOT be able to control their emotions when the test comes.
This brings up something else the Lord has shown me many times over in the years. That is about discipline, we must remain discipline in the little things of life, or when the big things come around you will fall short. For example if you are lazy and do not pick up after yourself, putting things away. There will come a day when something big happens and you will not be prepared. For example maybe a medical emergency and because you are not disciplined to put your keys away, you need to get to the hospital and cannot because you cannot find the car keys.
Again, many of the examples are not necessarily sinful, but they are stressful and lead to sin, because for example if my wife could not find the keys she would be yelling and screaming and cursing out of fear and anger. Twisting things like it was my fault she cannot find her keys. This might sound like an extreme example and maybe it is, but it could easily happen in our life. Being disciplined in the small details of life keeps a lot of dysfunction and sin out of your life.
Another simple example from our life is my wife always is saying how she wants to take the kids to the sand dunes which are literally 5 minutes away. Yes it looks like fun, but at least 3 times there has been murders there. And it has been shut down for months now because of a murder. Seems many of the cartel or drug people hang out there?!?!
She keeps saying she is going with the kids, to which I keep saying why? Yes it would be fun, but is it worth risking the health or life of our kids for a few hours of fun?
The point of this story is how we just do things on our own out of seeking “fun” and it puts us at risk. I am not suggesting you need to sit in your home all day doing nothing because it can be dangerous. But to disobey the Lord or not seek his commands on the subject, puts you at risk, maybe costing you your life.
Now to be fair, my wife loves me and our life together as boring as I can be to her at times. And because she is very beautiful and sexy she gets a lot of men hitting on her to which she feels like I let her down as compared to the way she thinks it would be with these younger more handsome men ( I am getting older and not so handsome). But she also gets the part of why I am the way I am. And she knows it is good for us both and worth the struggles of overcoming her needs to feel desired by all these other men. And know the end game of our salvation is much more important than having a man who tells you what your itching ears want to hear. So she stays with me, where it is not so exciting, but instead a life of working out what God is working in us both.
Now as said many times, I am not worried about dying, we all die sometime. But I am concerned about dying because or while disobeying the truth in the Lord. If we are murdered like most of the disciples and the Lord himself while obeying God, you reach heaven, the most amazing place ever. But dying because you choose to do things your own way, results in disobedience to which the Lord will hold you accountable. I do NOT want to die outside of his grace. And you do not have grace if you do not obey the Lord. Which for many of you goes against your religious doctrine of how you see grace. A doctrine which is a lie. You do not have grace unless you are in the will of God, and you are not in the will of God unless you obey his commands, and you are not obeying his commands if you do not hear him and do as he says. You cannot have one without the other.
And this is the “LOVE of GOD!” That is because you used to walk in the flesh and in sin, but once you came to the truth (which is in Yeshua) and then listened to him and obeyed his commands to you personally. He washed you clean and made you Holy. He redeemed you from the sinful nature. He made redemption available for the whole world, but we must step through his door to be redeemed. And this is how we do it. Not a sinner’s prayer or confession or other nonsense. But by seeking him and then when you find him, obey his voice and watch him change your life into a “boring one” as the world sees it. But as a Holy one as the Lord sees it. Keep in mind the world still sees it as bad. Keeping in mind they murdered the only perfect man Yeshua while saying he was a sinner and had demons. The same with the disciples after they received the Spirit. They killed them thinking they were doing good for God because they came teaching a different doctrine than they taught. But then their doctrine was hypocritical and incorrect. No different than the doctrines of the “christian” churches today. Keeping in mind the word “christian” is a man made term to describe a new hypocritical religion. T is not a part of the original bible, but the word came about some 300 years later from the Greeks. The true believers worship in Spirit and truth, and the truth is they were called Messianans, or followers of the Messiah. Not followers of just another one of the many “christos” or gods the Greeks had.
The christian religions push their own doctrines depending on which one you choose to attend. But none of them tell you to know and obey the Lord and his commands to you unto righteousness and Holiness. And because of this the christian remain in their sin and do not experience the things God has prepared for them, because they love their god and not the true God, Yahweh and Yeshua and the Spirit of truth.
