When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Psalms 56:4
What is your trust in? It is one thing and an easy thing to say I trust in the Lord, but it is another to live as if you really do trust him. The verse above was the verse of the day which as always coincides with something going on in my life.
This time it is something with my health, I did a blood test and two things came back not so good, things I never had before. First one my ldl cholesterol levels were high. Second, my readings for fatty liver were high. Neither one to the level of dying anytime soon. But higher than they should be.
The point is this, and it is what my wife wants me to do. We run off to our doctor to find out what he tells us to do to fix or mask the problem. And normally they will put you on drugs like statins for cholesterol. This is what we do in the flesh in the system of man. But is it of God?
I spent the better part of the morning praying to God asking him what changed to get these results. And more so what to do differently to correct it, because the fatty liver is easy enough to reverse as the liver regenerates every 30 days.
The first thing was obvious enough, which is to stop having my daily cup of wine, or two when watching the sunset. The second surprised me a bit and would have never put the two together, which was we started to cook with the fat from pigs. From many things I have read or seen, we are supposed to cook with animal fat instead of seed oils or trans fats.
So it surprised me a little when the Lord put it on my mind, but then he showed me a few things from what I have been reading in the old testament. The first one is the Jews did not eat pork. The second thing was Adonai told the Jews to not drink the blood of animals or eat the fat. And over and over it is written about using olive oil in their diets.
Ironically, in the last few days I also have seen a lot about the Mediterranean diet, which one of the main things in their diet is “olive oil.” Being Israel is in that area, it is not surprising they had this diet.
The other interesting thing is I have changed my diet a little since the last time I did a blood test about 2 years ago, and stopped eating bread, no sugar, no trans fats at all like potato chips… My diet overall is exceptional.
So I am asking the Lord, why? Not why in a poor little me attitude of fear. Because the one part of the verse above that is not about my feelings is “afraid” because I have no fear as we would state it. I would call it more of a fear of the Lord as to why? Because if I understand health the way I do, and am disciplined to not have something like this happen, then how is it happening? Also, it is written, we are to take care of the body, the temple of the Holy Spirit, so obviously I want to do that. Out of fear for the Lord, not out of fear of death. If you do not know the Spirit of God, it is probably hard to understand this comment. The only thing that concerns me with these readings is I do not want to end up like my dad in a wheel chair or my mom with cancer or die from a failing liver. Something prolonged and with a lot of suffering. I would prefer someone to take my life because they hate what I say in truth and want me quiet.
There are two lessons in this post, the first one is simply who do you run to when a problem comes? God or a man with their worldly options which are corrupt. As mentioned a few times, when I look at what information is out there and the differences between opinions and many giving opposite guidance designed to confuse you and keep you in confusion. It is even more important to seek the truth in Yeshua than a man who is educated in the worldly ways. I remember obama speaking and saying that when you flood the people with information from all sides, how it keeps you in confusion. That is how his god satan works, fill the people with information on both sides of the spectrum, but keep them from the middle ground which is the truth (in Yeshua). If you are on one side or the other you still will not find the truth which sets you free and heals you. The truth does both.
The next and last point, if in seeking the ways of God, I die and the ways of the world might have saved me from dying. Will it matter to me? Not at all. My only concern with any of it is protecting my temple of the Holy Spirit and making sure I die in the truth of the Lord so there is no possibility of a judgment on me for hell, I want a guarantee for heaven and there is only one way to obtain it, hearing and obeying the Lord in every detail and letting him work in you what you need to work out. I see this current small test (big to many of you, because most do not seek the direction of the Lord and do whatever your doctor tells you to do and it makes you sicker instead of healthier). This test to me is simply do I go to the world or to God?
As I have mentioned a few times in other post about my parents, mostly my dad. And a conversation with my sister. I made the point that the system taking care of dad is what caused his stroke, it caused his blood pressure issues, all his health problems. If you stop and analyze it, my dad had his stroke when on these meds which were supposed to prevent these things. Same with the high blood pressure meds and the others. Also when on these he was in and out of the hospital when in Iowa, usually 3 times a year. Since moving here no more problems like that and we removed most of the meds. Not once in the hospital his blood sugar is perfect, his blood pressure is perfect all without meds. The medical system is not set up to heal you by giving you good advice to change your diet (repent). But designed to give you some high cost meds to keep you sick and coming back.
So for me, the question is why would I do what I did for my dad, and then run to the same people who made him sick when I have a health issue? What is good for the goose is good for the gander. And the proof is in the pudding, as the old sayings go.
As a side note, when my dad was in the system, he cost it millions over the years with hospital visits, meds and doctor visits. Since he moved here, he has not cost even one penny to the system. The few meds he takes we pay cash for and any visits for blood test or doctors we also pay cash for. The point is it supports what is being said, the system is set up not to get you healthy but to keep you sick and coming back and stealing your wealth and the wealth of others through health insurance or medicare payments. These cost are extremely high and skyrocketing because of this, not because we need national health care or government intervention.
One interesting thought that keeps coming to mind, which is how we are not of the world but still in it. Our problems we face and deal with are of the world. If everyone obeyed Yeshua we would not have these problems, using my dad as the example. If everyone changed their lifestyle, mostly diet. We would not have a lot of hospitals and doctors making people more unhealthy. And the cost of insurance would drop significantly. Just like how my dad went from millions in cost to zero. The point is we have problems from two sources. Our own decisions not in God, and the decisions of others, not in God. So some of the points I make are for the better of my life as well as yours. I hate it when people are seeking free stuff from the government, because I know it will increase my cost to live either by extra tax or inflation if they print money. There is a reason for the high grocery store cost, and 50% of the people saying they cannot pay their bills and stopped paying rent, or mortgages or car loans or skipping meals.
We can afford it, but our grocery bill keeps going up. And because of how we are set up I do not pay much of anything in taxes. Last year I paid zero US federal taxes. We do not have health insurance so we are also not paying for other peoples health cost like most US citizens. We do many things to keep our cost of living down which does affect you some, because we are not offsetting your health care premiums and not paying income taxes (legally) to offset some of the budget deficits. But with those things, why do I want to support a corrupt and broken system which is set up to steal your money? If you want to support the system and pay into it, it is your choice, but I elect not to. And I would appreciate you all not electing to pay into the system either as it does drive up the cost of those who want to stay out of it with inflation.
So, do you really trust the Lord like this? Or just quote a bible verse and run to men to guide you?
