Neither the delivery nor the content of my message relied on compelling words of “wisdom” but on a demonstration of the power of the Spirit, so that your trust might not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. Yet there is a wisdom that we are speaking to those who are mature enough for it. But it is not the wisdom of this world or of this world’s leaders, who are in the process of passing away. On the contrary, we are communicating a secret wisdom from God which has been hidden until now but which, before history began, God had decreed would bring us glory. Not one of this world’s leaders has understood it; because if they had, they would not have executed the Lord from whom this glory flows. But, as the Tanakh says,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard
and no one’s heart has imagined
all the things that God has prepared
for those who love him.”
It is to us, however, that God has revealed these things. How? Through the Spirit. For the Spirit probes all things, even the profoundest depths of God. 1 Corinthians 2:4-10
This message of Paul’s that has been read a million times and discerned in the wrong way by most, is a stumbling block. It completely shakes up the church system if you have ears to hear and understand it. Because the things or wisdom of God comes from the Spirit to each man directly, not through a human. “It is not the wisdom of this world or of this world’s leaders, who are in the process of passing away.”
It is not possible to explain to a man who is in the flesh and religious the things of God and how he works and the wisdom he shows you. When I try to explain how I am successful and it is all to the glory (or because of) God. The first thing people will tell me is I need to go to church, or read my bible more.
Keep in mind Paul was a scribe of scribes, he knew the bible inside and out, yet he had no Godly wisdom until Yeshua knocked him off his high horse literally. When this happened, then Paul started to seek the voice of the Lord Yeshua and then obey what he was told, no matter the cost to his own safety or good.
You cannot hold onto the things of the world and grab ahold of the things of God at the same time. We must let go of everything we hold near and dear to our heart and dive into the deep with the Lord. He shows us things not through studying or reading or listening to men and their wisdom. But by experience, he puts us through things, most of which we would never choose to go through as they are not easy. But it is this suffering that is producing a glory that far outweighs it all.
This is how you learn this wisdom. Directly from Yeshua, hearing his Spirit teach you. Even a man like Paul or myself cannot teach you the things the Spirit can, even though we know them. It does not work that way. All I can teach a person is this simple point.
You must know Yeshua and obey him. He and his Spirit will work in you what you need to work out. And do NOT quench the Spirit!
Everything else is on the Lord, and this is what it means to make disciples to the nations. Most plant churches and make disciples to their religious beliefs, which is what every “church” is doing. The true gathering of the church, or the children of God, are the ones who rely on the Holy Spirit to teach them and then gather to share each other’s stories of what the Lord revealed to them. The gathering of the church is NOT for one man to get up and share his worldly wisdom of what he studied in college. Because even if what he studied in college was from a true believer who knows God and obeys him and has his wisdom. But the man learning does not do that. He will never achieve the true wisdom (light) that only the Holy Spirit can give.
This teaching is right in line with what Yeshua said in John 3:19-21 about the light and man hiding from that light.
It is so simple to achieve salvation, yet sooooo hard. And the god of this world, satan does everything to keep you from the truth which only comes from Yeshua. He gives you everything else, a bible which is twisted, men teachers, big fancy churches, or maybe a small little poor church like they have here in Mexico all over. satan will give you all kinds of things which seem like they are of God and are God, in order to keep you away from God. And God seems to fight against himself in that when the men believe the lie, he sends them a delusion so they do believe the lie. That one is hard to explain why, but the just of it is because it is what you want to believe, you want nothing to do with God you want only to do with a god who agrees with your way of thinking. As long as you remain in that way of thinking you will never achieve anything in God, you might have a form of Godlyness, but you deny him his power.
The other aspect of it is he is using it in his called children to bring us into the Light. When your life gets so crazy you do not understand it and are really hurting, then you will seek God and find him, well maybe. Many chose drugs and alcohol and other things to kill the pain. But this is the only way you will find him. You will never seek the things and truth in God as long as your life is going well. It is in your pain that you might seek him, then he will remove the delusion you believed in so much and show you his truth, wisdom (light). And his way to live your life. Wo
