How long, Adonai? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I keep asking myself what to do, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long must my enemy dominate me? Psalms 13:1-3
Two thoughts going on in me at the same time, and both are related as is everything. The first one is why do we seek the wisdom of men (or lack of compared to the wisdom from God). And we do not seek God and his voice?
Before we dive into that, let me explain the reason for the verse and a conversation with an owner of one of our condos. This guy’s dad is a big wig in the Calvary church system in Latin America. He is a “christian” within that church system. I went to that church system, I know it, well at least what they teach here in Rosarito. And it is as much of a “telling your itching ears what you want to hear” type church as I have ever gone to. I have had conversations with the head preacher where he is telling one thing, and I bring up the opposite view point because I know God and what he teaches me. And immediately he switches his message. He even started a bible study which was supposed to be 13 weeks. I went to the first one and that was it, no more. Every point he was trying to make I had an opposite point to make to him, using the same exact verses. The study was all about once saved, always saved, which they teach. But after I got done with the truth, they had no answers for their message, so the bible study stopped. But even so, it was the message they continue to preach instead of changing their message. Because if they changed it the people would leave.
As an example of people leaving, the church my wife went to had a change in the main message from one of “Jesus does not see your sin, so it is OK.” To “you need to do good works, and turn from your sin.” About half the people left the church, and it was made up of family members so division came with it, But even so, the message is still not 100% correct, as it discusses good works but not how to achieve them. And that we need to hear and obey the voice of God. That obedience is to God not his torah.
Keep in mind the bible was not around in the days David was writing the Psalms, as you can plainly see he was writing it at that time. He did not have scripture to fall back on for his word. His word was God, the hearing and obeying him. And God had done the same thing with him he did with Job (which I just got done reading). This is not a new point, but it really is hitting home more this time than ever. Which is how God is there with you, and things are good. Then he withdraws and leaves you to be tested, and satan comes into play. It has happened to every man Adonai uses, from Moses, to Joseph, to David… It has happened to me, and just did happen again for a short period.
When I was dealing with my wife and her demanding spirit of me needing to read her mind and do as she expects to satisfy her emotions, God left me. And as soon as he left me satan came testing me. Ironically (or not so ironically when you understand the spiritual world we do not see). I had youtube videos pop up about leaving a woman who does certain things, which my wife was doing them. Videos of how to tell when a woman is cheating on you. The devil flooded my mind with all kinds of thoughts of other women, and even it seemed other women started to notice me more.
I had some serious fights in my mind about all kinds of evil thoughts I had to defeat. And I did it with truth. And the truth is nothing happened, nothing was happening. But the evil one played things out in my mind like it was happening. And where was God? No where to be found.
But like David I kept seeking him, doing everything possible to get rid of the evil thoughts that kept coming to me, and refusing to act on them. It is not the first time, won’t be the last. Daily satan is puttiung things in our heads, but most of the time it is a simple little thought that I can immediately dismiss and move on. But this time it was an onslaught, one after another… Nothing to the level of Job, but I have lived at the level of Job in my past, 20 years ago when I lost my family and money and health. And had to rebuild it all. Adonai certainty made the second half of my life better than the first. And he also always seems to bless you with extra special things after the fight and you staying obedient to him.
As I wrote in the past few days, this man who we sold a home to let us use his condo in Puerto Vallarta for free, gave us a free car and took us out to eat 3 times at really high end restaurants and would not let us pay. He also picked us up at the airport and took us back. But as much or more than that, he showed my wife some things so she turned from this self centered lust of the flesh (honoring her emotions) to seeking the truth in God. The truth which united us deeper in the real love Adonai gives. One that works as written where a wife honors her husband, and likewise a man honors her wife. And not a relationship of demanding our own ways and always fighting.
You really need to understand this, however you cannot until you die unto yourself and do things the way and will of Adonai. A marriage can be the most blessed thing in the world or the worst thing. The devils way brings conflict and fighting, men and women are built very different and they conflict when selfishness is involved. But when you surrender to the Lord and do it his way, both you and your spouse. Then there is an incredible peace and deep love that comes from the relationship.
This is the extra bonus, one that is priceless. A relationship with your spouse which is in Adonai and his perfect will. Proverbs chapter 31, please read it as it speaks of it as when a man finds a good wife, her value is far beyond pearls.
So back to the first verse and tie this together. We must know Adonai and his son Yeshua. And how the work of the Holy Spirit works in us if you let him and come into the light instead of ignoring it (the condemnation). You must know you have to hear and ovbey God and let him lead you into all righteousness. And know the message preached inthese whore church systems is keeping you from it because of the lies they teach, the same ones you want to hear instead of the truth which sets you free. And makes for excellent relationships with the other people who also follow God, and become one with him. We also must know that their are times when God seems very distant and the evil one will attach hard. There is always testing to deal with, it grows you. No man has ever grown deep into the Spirit without testing, it is NOT a simple sinners prayer and or infant baptism into a church system which saves you and makes you Holy as he is Holy. There is no working out what he works in you with those lies. What I am explaining to you, or telling you to expect “IF” you choose to pursue the truth in Yeshua is what has the potential to save you, but it is not just the hearing of the word (with the word being Yeshua) it is also being a doer or obeying what you hear from Yeshua, because he is working in you what you must work out in fear and trembling for your salvation.
You cannot understand this until you go through it. But where the true doctrine comes in is if you do not understand or know how it works, you will never go down the narrow path with God because it sounds like a bad path, the wrong way.
I liken it to what Yeshua showed me many years ago, where we live on a tree, and head down different branches. Each branch represents a different doctrine which might be religious, or political or both. It does not matter the doctrine because none of them ends up with the Father Adonai in heaven. Only the middle of the tree, the narrow path ends up there and few find it. But the Lord also showed me when you start down one of those branches and find out it is not the right one, and start back. The people tell you that you are going the wrong way, and think you are crazy. They believe their branch is the right one, but also most think any of the branches are good enough to get to the Father, so just stay the course.
But when you are taught by the Lord Yeshua, then you start to understand how this is a lie and none of these branches end up with the Father, there is only one way to the Father and it is through the son, doing things in his way, truth and light. Not a religious way and their lies and darkness that pretends to be light. God uses the darkness you go through to make you seek him. Both initially and even after you come to know and hear him. But satan also uses these times of darkness to drive you deeper into the sin and dysfunction of life. So who are you going to seek and follow? The Lord God almighty and his perfection? Or satan and his dysfunction? The majority of the world, way more than 99% seek or continue down the worldly path and never come to know God. Remaining of one of the many wide paths to destruction and death.
