Blessed is the man who trusts in Adonai; Adonai will be his security. He will be like a tree planted near water; it spreads out its roots by the river; it does not notice when heat comes; and its foliage is luxuriant; it is not anxious in a year of drought but keeps on yielding fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8
Adonai will be his security! Many people claim things or passages from the bible that do not belong to them, they were made to another person and specific to that situation. And in almost all cases it is someone who does not know God, they just know what a man teacher told them about God, a god that does not even come close to representing the true living God, Adonai Yeshua and the Holy Spirit.
With that said, and as I read through the old testament now starting to read from Joshua, the same story continues. As long as the Israelites were right with God and not disobeying and or worshipping fake gods or idols. He not only protected them, but he made the enemies fear them before they even came along. It is interesting because yesterday I read about how they took Jericho, and how the prostitute who helped the young men was not only spared and lived to an old age. But she said to them, she knows about the reputation of their God Adonai, and feared him. She helped them and begged for mercy and she got it and actually then lived amongst the Israelites the rest of her life.
Today it spoke of a city Ai, which is interesting to me because of AI (artificial intelligence) today. But I digress. In this case initially Adonai did not protect them and they got destroyed because one man disobeyed God and kept some spoils from the last raid. After the prayer from Joshua and the process Adonai told him to do, they found the man, and they stoned him to death and then smashed his ashes to nothing. The next time they went back to Ai they were successful and destroyed the city, and killed the King.
The point is everything is conditional with God. Adonai does protect his men, until he doesn’t. It normally is because they fall away and follow false gods or just do not listen to him and obey his commands directly or indirectly from a prophet. I still hold it in my mind that the Jews with hitler were very much out of favor with God. Not sure what they did or why, but it is obvious.
But there is also the whole crucifixion thing of the son of God, Yeshua who was perfect, and Adonai allowed him to be put to death. As were most all the disciples, and many other messians over the years.
As said before a true believer and follower through obedience to the Lord’s voice. I do not fear death, no matter what they can do to me. I fear not being right with God and where my eternity would be because of it.
But here is the interesting point the Lord is making to me about it. He would not allow some random thing to happen like a sickness kill me, or a random violent act or car accident… If I was to die in a way other than old age it would be at the hands of the evil one destroying me through his followers. Like Yeshua and the apostles, they were not killed just because someone got mad at them. They were killed because of pushing the doctrine we must all know to find salvation, and the men who follow satan either directly or through a man made religion, do not like it. So maybe they kill me like they did Yeshua and the disciples.
That death always has a purpose behind it, a purpose above a man’s life here on earth, which again for a man of God is not a bad thing, we know where we are going and it is going to be a much better place then living in this hell we live in now.
We live here in Baja Mexico with the cartel all around us, and we see many things, hear many gunshots… But nothing touches us. As said before I even see the Lord setting us up for something big that is going to happen with wisdom and buying some land in a far away place, a land flowing with milk and honey. OR at least coconut milk, and mangos which are sweet. It is also with an abundance of water and fish and other things to sustain us if it gets that bad. We built it to be completely off grid. I hope it does not get to that point where we have to use it, but I feel very confident we will in my lifetime.
But I know Adonai will be my security,as long as I obey him he will protect me and my family. But the minute I do not obey, I am on my own and fair game. I also know his blessings from a worldly point of view is also because of obedience to him, and the minute I stop obeying it can all go away.
This is why almost all of you reading this will disagree, because your religious beliefs are very different. One of my high school classmates posted today about the law with God and instead doing good works. He made the point that good works are worth more, but what he failed to understand is who are you doing the good works for?
He is a catholic and has deep rooted beliefs in that religion. A memory comes back to me when I was catholic and making good money and we went a few times to feed the homeless people in Des Moines Iowa. We bought, prepared and served the food. Most of the people were drug addicts and really sick mentally. I remember one woman who said something really mean to my wife at the time. Which then brings up the verse about do not give your pearls to the swine lest they come back and bite you.
I did say something on his post which was to this point. The real answer is that we need to be born again, to know God and his will, and give according to his will to whom he wants you to give. And the personal point I used was our adoptive girls. It is one thing to go one night a month or year to feed some drug addicts who do not deserve it. Or what about feeding the enemy who is persecuting you. Like the Islam who want to kill the followers of the son of God even if catholic or christian.
Adonai never once said to feed the enemy, he always said to destroy them including women and children.
It also is another thing to take 2 girls into your house 24 hours a day everyday and feed them both physically and spiritually. To take care of all their expenses. I also made the point that it was God’s will not mine, I had no reason to want young kids at 60 years old. But also many times I am very thankful because I do not know what I would do with my time if I was not raising kids, they keep you busy.
The main point is we have our own ideas when we are religious, of how it is supposed to be and what is the most important thing we should be doing. And also what is really important. For me when feeding the drug addicts, I thought it was something God would be proud of for me to do, a sacrifice. But it wasn’t nothing in his eyes. It was giving money to the enemy, the ones who will come back and bite you.
The other night I had a dream and in it I was helping out a friend for free, and I dropped some materials so they broke. So here I am helping for free and it cost me to pay for these materials we cannot use anymore.
The simple point of the dream is summed up above. Stop doing things you are not supposed to do, and do the things God expects you to do. Then he is your security and your wisdom and prosperity.
